I have a regular client who suffers from nerve pain all along the right side of his body. After many sessions we've made a lot of progress in all of his other problem areas (several head/neck injuries, bone spurs, misalignments, arthritis etc, however..

every time I focus specifically on the nerve the pain leaves during the session, but returns with a vengeance several hours later. So, we've been dancing around the nerve(s) for many weeks now. While it helps to reduce the nerve sensations usually by point or so, a week later it seems to be back up to around a 4.

We've also found that Core is the best form to use in his sessions. I've tried pretty much every single technique I've learned in Core 1 and 2, my own form of energy and emotional work and have infused the work with a whole plethora of various intentions.

I did have one really interesting session where I seemed to enter into a completely different area of my brain whereupon the client suddenly exclaimed that he was full of energy/electricity as though a circuit was suddenly completed. He loved it and felt fantastic after the session. Yet the sensations still returned a few days later.

Has anyone had prior experience with chronic nerve pain or something similar? I keep wondering what else I can try??

Do you ever do any visualization work with him - verbalizing? If you do, I might have some suggestions.... Big Grin It's not Core, but it may be helpful.

We do mostly clear intentions for each session which is a visualization so to speak. But I'm open to anything you have to offer Big Grin

Sounds like progress to me.... Patience, Grasshopper, patience. Wink

When it changes but keeps coming back like that there is usually some sort of emotional component underlying the problem. You say you've tried all the techniques of Core 1 & 2, so I assume you've looked for emotional "balls" in the field, as well as checking allergens/sensitivities. Did you check for sensitivity to his own nerve tissue, and combinations with that?

The Supercharging emotional work with dialoging could be helpful, but just do the same thing using the Core breath and opening rather than sending the energy in. See what words and concepts are affecting the energy field as he talks, have him talk about those more and have him feel the feeling it produces, as you apply the Core opening.

Thank-you Cris, that was my first thought as well, but the symptoms seem to return worse than they were to begin with.

Jody: Ah ha! The sensitivity to the nerve tissue is something I haven't tried. We've focused mostly on external issues, so I will definitely give this a go. I will also encourage him to talk about things, as he's generally pretty quiet during sessions.

I've been using a new technique I've created where we go on a journey into the heart chakra to look for and clear any issues in connection to the main problem. We tried this on our last session which seems to have really helped him emotionally.

Thank-you for your ideas!

Hi Sonja,

This has nothing to do with Core work, but I just wanted to point you in the direction of my post on magnesium in Off Topics if you are still looking for ideas on how to help with the nerve pain.

Magnesium can be highly effective for treating pain, depending on the cause. I've also read recently that cesium chloride is very effective for pain, but it is riskier to use because it must be accompanied by potassium. Let me know if you're interested because I do have some links on that as well.

Best of luck in finding a treatment,

Denise

Hey Denise,

Boy I'm sorry about my really late reply here. Just want to thank you for your suggestion. This client already takes magnesium and all sorts of other supplements on a regular basis.

I figure so long as we keep searching and trying new things the solution will eventually present itself.
