Digging deep to find out just where the heck I went...![]() |
A couple of months ago I took the Core 1 class with Alain. Ali had been asking for comments on experiences with doing the Core work and I thought it was about time to share at least some of my limited experiences after the class.
Being in the class was very interesting, and I experienced a number of things that I did not expect. I never expected going into the core point to be so easy, yet so very hard. I felt things such as the flow, the reverse movement of gravity, the sudden release of an area. Even more surprising was how easily I started seeing things. Those of you who know me know how interested I have been in seeing energy. So for it to come so fast and so vividly as it did was shocking. But it was not exactly what I expected, in that I was always surprised at what I saw. I don't know what I expected to see, but it was not what came to me. This may seem obvious to most of you, but the less I expected, the more I got. Boy, what a tough lesson to learn! Immediately after the class I had a chance to work on my wife who was having some asthma problems. I worked on her twice, and both times were interesting. But what really struck us one time was as I was poking with a stick (I believe) is that she started to have a very powerful laughing fit for no apparent reason. After a minute she was cackling so much that we both had tears streaming down our faces. After it was over she said she felt a lot better, as though that was just what she needed. Very cool. I also tried on a number of occasions to be in the core point to bring my sick child some calm so he could sleep. The first couple of times I did the yin breath and got in my core point he responded immediately and settled down. But it got harder and harder as time went by to go there with him, leading me to my biggest lesson so far: It is exceedingly difficult for me to go to my core point or to do any work when I am distracted, stressed or otherwise not calm. I first recognized this at the Core 1 class. When we were doing exercises I found it hard to concentrate as I kept being distracted by talking in the room, or by listening to Alain talk to another participant, trying to guide them. But as soon as Alain came to me, I found it easier to concentrate, as I only had him (and myself) to deal with. Some of us even commented that we wish he could be around with us all the time, since it was so much easier with him there next to us. Talk about the observer affecting the observed! So whenever Joshua is crying, I can't focus, which means I can't get in my core point or run energy. Which means nothing happens. Which makes it hard to want to even try. Typical stuff there. So once again I run into the same lessons that I apparently have yet to learn. This work is very interesting, and I feel that I could do a lot with it, but I keep getting in my own way. So there are some observations of what has been going on. Hopefully someone who reads this will find a little to learn from as well. Perhaps can avoid some of the problems I have encountered in my attempts. John M. |

I haven't taken the Core Class but have studied the DVD and practice the core breath as much as the Super Charge techniques everyday. I use CT when anything stressful or inflammatory is happening physically or emotionally and it works great. When I first started practicing it I had trouble doing the core breath in different positions/situations ie laying down versus standing up, walking, driving. Eventually I got pretty comfortable using it all the time, even in stressful situations, or should I say especially in stressful situations. As long as I'm not winded doing exercise or something strenuous I can do the core breath pretty well. I prefer it with my eyes closed as I can access that other healing part of my brain better but can do with open eyes too. It helps to have lots of situations, practice, and feedback from others using the core breath until you gain the confidence that you can use it effectively anywhere, anytime. Maybe try taking a lighter approach using the CT when you are stressed, don't try so hard. Just let it flow and see what happens. Hope this helps John.

John,
I was with you at that class (9/20/2008). The poke with a stick worked very well on me there. I had sinus congestion for 6 weeks, attributing it to the change of season from summer to fall. It was really bothering me during the class. While being the guinea pig for poke with a stick exercise, the other student managed to completely clear my sinus congestion. She saw a vision as though she was inside my skull. There was a green snake of energy circling my eye sockets. When she drew it out, I erupted in crying. I realized the blockage was grief over a 24-year friendship that ended with my best friend from high school. I was glad to release that grief but it took me a while to heal it. I think the core point is tricky. It was touted as superior to yang energy, so I can never decide which to use when. I think it requires a lot of practice. I always get the same sinus pressure when I work with this energy. I practice relaxing the palatine. I consider it to be distance healing even if the person is right in front of me because I would prefer to work with invisible hands. It blows my mind that people can feel it, because it is so completely inside my mind. Energy follows thought. Amazing. This message has been edited. Last edited by: RadiantLux, |

The beautiful thing about QT is that you can always switch to Supercharge if the Core isn't working and vice-versa. Combining the two makes life interesting. I love it!
