I enjoyed the Core Class and learned so much, but I'm at a loss about the diaphragm breathing. I remember doing it in class. I've looked over the handout and maybe I'm not seeing it, but what does the diaphragm breathing do? And are we supposed to get to the point where we breathe all the diaphragms at once? I've been practicing with it some, but it would help if I knew what it does. Does it help us be more aware of the energy flow, or to help us be more sensitive to the energy?
Thank you! Anita Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers) |

Hi Anita,
When I'm looking at diaphragms apart from following the flow is that I try to figure out how to make more space and open all diaphragms and fully feel the feelings I find attach to them. Mainly I do recall some kind of event that I try to embrace and to still keep that melting feeling of openness. But I only saw DVD’s, so I would also be glad to hear have I figure that right? When working with the diaphragms, simply relax in the core point and by touching different parts of the body, your awareness is thrown there too and since you're in an allowing state of mind, it simply unwinds. In reality, all the diaphragms are unwinding simultaneously. By choosing to touch or feel a particular one allows you to experience what that area feels like. Alain & Jody have shown us to understand that at the sub-cellular foundation, there are innumerable little tubules running through the body. There should always be a flow through these tubules and tension is the major factor that inhibits the flow. "Through the act of 'diagphragm breathing' and elongations we bring this flow back into harmony." This basically will help your body continually stay healthy and in turn you will be an even more powerful healer. Hope that helps!

Anto is correct and I will add that as the body lets go you have greater health over all.
For instance as the perineal floor lets go pressure on the prostate for men and for women pressure begins to be released in the cervix, uterus and ovaries as you continue into the peritoneum the whole area lets go even more. Just by releasing these areas you begin the process of returning health to the prostate so prostate problems tend to dissipate. The same goes for hard periods for females, as the pressure is reduced not only is there better health, but int he act of the area releasing, emotional blockages begin to release, and if you'll stay the course, they will often resolve. Beyond this all the muscles and tendons and ligaments in these areas are allowed to relax and healing is deepened there as well. This goes on and on through out the body depending upon the amount of letting go and where you place the majority of your focus. Relax, enjoy and play. Then notice how you are opened. Thanks so much to everyone who helped clear that up for me. I'm really looking forward to the CT book, but until then I know where I can come with questions.
Now that I know more, I can focus properly while doing that particular exercise. Anita Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there. (Will Rogers) |
