I am learning the CT technique through the DVD's and have a question re emotions....
I have used distance Core on just one person so far and both times when I really dive into the core point when working on them,I have had waves of sadness come over me and tears. I am not sure whether this is the CT working on me or it is a release of the client. This has never happened to me when working on clients withregular or supercharging QT. The client didn't have any emotional issues come up during the session. Any advice as to what is going on?
Many thanks
Claire

Hi, Claire.

When you're unsure of where feelings are based, withdraw your awareness from the client and look only within yourself. See how that feels. Once you're comfortable with what's going on in you, bring your client back into the core point again and evaluate how that feels again. Is it the same? Different? If different, how so?

Once you get a sense for differences you experience within yourself and within the client, you'll be able to get a much better sense of how to proceed. If that sadness lay within you, ask it where it resides. You can follow the sensation and then work from that point in the same fashion as you'd follow any client's emotional issues.

Very well said, Trane. That is basically what I do when I'm not sure what I'm feeling is mine or the client's. I often sense what is going on for the client both emotionally and physically by mirroring the sensation in my body. I sometimes take my awareness away and put it back several times to be sure of where the sensation actually originates, with me or them.

An old emotion can lodge in the physical body, and be accessed during work without the client being actively aware of the issue. Sometimes simply pointing it out to them as you work (if it feels appropriate) can help it release faster. Of course if you're working distantly, that may not be possible at the time.

It may also be your emotion. Remember as you do the work, you are opening and releasing yourself, and being in the Core point opens you to greater awareness of what is going on in structure, your own included.

Thanks Trane & Jody,
That makes sense, I will be more aware of this next time. I am enjoying experiencing the core work and am looking forward to taking the live class at some point.
