I find that after a couple of minutes I require a lot of focus and concentration to stay in the core point and breath correctly. Sometimes my head feels very hot when doing so and afterwards I feel a bit tired like I need to rest.

Perhaps I am focusing too much? Any ideas?

Thanks

I think you are right. The focus is present and at first it takes a bit of effort. Then you need to start letting yourself be there and opening as you are there. It sounds a bit confusing but the desire is to "be" rather than "do". The desire to "do" is what I think is causing your situation.

In the beginning it is definitely like that and was for me. What helped a lot was, if you could, to lie down on your back and just do nothing but BE in the core point, how we did initially in the workshop. Doing this for a few minutes really helps amp up my perception and focus when I get up and sit in a chair. If you can't lie down, try the Qi Gong form, that helps too surprisingly!

Thank you Alain and Anto.

I feel better knowing I am not the only person who experienced that. I will try just lieing on my back and simply breathing and being in the core point. If the breathing gets tiring then I'll just try and remain in the core point anyway.

That's a good starting point for progression so thank you again.

What a blessing this message board is. Thank you QT Smiler

Being in the core point feels to me like walking into the water on the beach: you have to maybe walk in against the waves get there if you are attached to keeping your head above the water, but once there, you can just float.

Perhaps you are trying to float in front of the waves rather than behind them (need to go a little deeper)

Once you are used to it, you can just dive right in with less effort! Smiler
