HI.I'm ANdrea from italy, after learning Qt and Sc i've bought the core transformation dvd workshop. I need some help to find my core point, until now i've just felt tingling sensation on the hands when trying to find it. And i have some questions , hope someone can answer me :
1) Do i have to focus myself on a precise point or more be into a zone of consciousness ? 2) Do i have to visualize it ? 3) Can you tell me how big that point is ? 4) I have to remain concentrated on this spot all the time i do the breathing ? 5) Is the core point supposed to be found rapidly or it's just a matter of practice ? Until now i did'nt feel a melting sensation but a relaxation and more tingling on my hands. May that be a clue ? Any help ? Sorry for all that questions but i have to be sure to do the thing right. Hi, Andrea.
Finding the Core Point was certainly a challenge for me. I'm not sure that I ever really got it right until I took the live workshop with Alain and Jody. Their coaching was invaluable. It's my understanding that the size of the Core Point is rather small and, as such, you must be focused well to find it. That said, once you've found it, the more you can relax into that point, the more spacious it becomes and the easier it is to remain in it. In the very beginning, my focus was razor sharp in this tiny little point. Over time, I learned to relax and expand into the point so that it feels large and easy to maintain. As for the breathing, you do want to keep concentrated within that core point. In fact, we often describe the Yin breath as breathing "from" the Core Point. As you relax more into the point and in the breath itself, you will find it easier to let each moment unfold and express itself. Most of all, have fun with it. Try to stay relaxed and not worry too much about being perfect. trane -- // Trane Francks <trane@gol.com> // Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. |

The tongue can help you locate it. 1. Imagine you are a three year old child at play. 2. Run the tongue along the central bulge in the roof of the soft palate, as far back as you can. 3. With the tongue at the 'back" of the bulge, imagine a balloon filled with white warm light, the size of a walnut, just to the back of your tongue tip. 4. Launch the balloon upwards, slowly (you are exhaling gently through the nose as you do this). 5. Continue slow exhalation through the nose--as the ballloon rises to the "top" of the palate (about 3/8 inch above and a bit in back of the tongue tip, feel the sensation of the space where the balloon is floating. 6.Continue slow exhalation through the nose-- let the balloon continue to rise, ever so slightly, until the sensation is maximized. VOILA!!

I find that partially closing and relaxing my eyes, going very slightly cross-eyed and slowly "pulling back" my "point of awareness" from my eyes about an inch until I feel a soft and still inner expansion of energy fill my head and body. I usually have to keep going just a little bit further until the full sensation is there.
For some reason, this came very naturally for me, and I recognized the state of consciousness right away: seems I was intuitively healing this way at times on & off without realizing what I was specifically doing with my awareness and breathing (this was my daydream/taking a nap healing method). Alain and Jody have refined this soooo perfectly that I'm still utterly amazed how straightforwardly anyone can heal this way just by following their directions! I hope this helps you find it. Question, All:
When you dive into the Core Point, does it pulse as would your heart or your clients heart? Mine does, and am wondering if I even HIT the Point. As I speed up or slow down my heart, the Point(?) pulses at the same speed, exactly. What is this? Have I inadvertantly hit an oddity, or do you also have a pulsing point? Sounds salacious, is not. I would like very much to know what I am doing here. Alain, if you are around, would you answer, please? with many thanks, zeneagle "Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without words and never stops at all" Love ya fambly |

Hi, Lynn.
It's possible that going into the core point brings with it, for you, an additional aspect of physical awareness. For example, when I go into the core point, I feel a significant pressure around my temples and eyes as I settle in and get comfy there. If I allow myself to notice it, I can certainly feel pulsing in those areas. I do not, however, feel pulsing in the core point itself. trane -- // Trane Francks <trane@gol.com> // Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. |

Hi Zeneagle
I don't feel a pulse when I'm in the core point. Occasionally I make a mistake. During the exhale I start pressing into the core point what limits the expansive feeling of the core point. Maybe your are to close to the third eye whiles trying. Einar |

I tend to agree with Tranes explanation. Another aspect is, for your body, you are breathing out too slowly. When ones "holds" their breath, when done long enough, the heart will begin to pound and this is felt like a pulse throughout the body.
I would try exhaling a bit faster and see if that mellows the phenomena. The combination of exhaling too slowly and greater awareness of the body when in the Core focus, is most likely the reason you are feeling the way you do. Alain Herriott instructor (advanced QT classes) |

Alain please help me with this last (i hope) question ..i'm studying the core dvds , you say that the core point is as big as a walnut. But i found it to be smaller than this . When i enter and stay in the core i feel buzzing and tingling on my arms and hands, and that's for me the clue that i'm in.But i often loose this focus even if i bring my awareness away just a little...so it did'nt seems to me as big as a walnut ..am i doing something wrong ? Thanx

Jody Herriot gave a friend of mine an invaluable tip for finding the core point: place your conscious awareness at your third eye. Imagine you are sitting in a little recliner chair at that spot. Now, lean back and recline the chair--you should hit the core point when you lean back.
Also, once you find it, you can use an NLP anchoring technique to 'recall it' easier from then on. When you're in your core point, choose a mudra or other hand position that you won't accidentally do during the course of your day, and visualize 'setting' your core point to that hand position. From then on, when you want to find your core point, just repeat that hand position and it will help you get there quickly. As an example, let's say you chose to use your right hand, and touch the tip of your thumb to the tip of your pinky finger as your 'signal'. Next time you want to find your core, just get in a quiet place and touch your thumb and pinky together and see if you don't very quickly slip back into your core point! It doesn't matter which hand you use or which fingers, or even if you touch your finger to the side of your nose, etc. just so it's not a gesture you make during the normal course of your day (and no, the one you use while driving in traffic is not appropriate for this!). Have fun....the less hard you 'try' the easier it will be to find it! Barbara Haines "At the height of laughter, the universe is flung into a kaleidoscope of new possibilities." ~Jean Houston |

Yes, the beach chair viewpoint is useful for me also. As you lean back in the tiny beach chair, look ahead and slightly upward (slightly!) at two large oval windows some distance in front of you. Those "windows" are the orbits of your eyes. My POV is farther back & a bit lower than the Third Eye area however, closer to a plane corresponding to just superior to the TMJs. The height is a bit lower than the Third Eye because the plane angles down and back, from Third Eye to occiput. I think.
When I took Core Transformation 2, there was a good review of CT1, during which Alain & Jody re-checked everyone's Core Point. I was fine, no corrections needed on that, so I feel confident that it's working well. The "size of a walnut" seems about right for me too. Once I have oriented myself re: chair and windows, I just "fall into" the correct spot, & can recognize when I am there. Alain or Jody, if I have gotten this confuzzled, please let me know! Thanks. Well it is about the size of a walnut and the real problem is everyone experiences these spaces a bit differently. To some it feels like they are focusing in the back of their head, for others really low in the brain. To some others and it appears you are one of them, it feels like a pin point. The key isn't the size it is the opening engendered by the experience.
Relax let yourself experiment and ease into the state rather than pushing into a point. Do remember as well that each experience is in the now not only a memory. Alain Herriott instructor (advanced QT classes) |

No, not a pin point at all...walnut size, and most times, as flow is established there is an expansion of that. which is lovely & very comfortable and comforting. It feels like a softening at the edges, opening like a flower at times, warm. Never do I experience it as a pin point.
Thanks for such a prompt answer. I know you're busy! Cheers to you both. Ali Practitioner and Instructor http://healinghandsminnesota.com Turn your face to the sun -- The shadows fall behind. |

Sorry, I should have been specific,I was mostly responding to Peachy's question. I thought your answer was right on Ali.
