Yawning is often a symptom of a "state" change. In other words your system is probably undergoing internal changes and one of the way this manifest is yawning. Another one that often shows up is burping so I would say you got the less anoying of the two.

Dear Alice and Alain,
Hehe, yes indeed, I've got the less anoying of the two Alain, what do you exactly mean with "Your system is undergoing internal changes '? And will this take a long time? Love Pieter |

As new pathways open and as you body gets used to these pathways you can expect the yawning. It can happen for several weeks initially and then only when it is creating new pathways again. The second series of yawning is when it is working on even deeper levels of change. You might find yourself being more intuitive and aware than in the past as a result.

I have been yawning right from the first QT workshop (7 months ago) - not always, but certainly a lot of the time. And I am still yawning! If I run energy while in a car, I yawn constantly, and it also happens when I work on others.
So could there be another reason, Alain, why I could be yawning? If it is only happening when it is creating new pathways surely I would not yawn so much anymore? Thanks jsc |

Yawning can happen if your life tends to be stressful and when you do QT you allow yourself to relax. There are certainly other possibilities as well. One of them has to do with getting enough oxygen.

Hi Alain,
Will this mean that maybe my breathing is not "good" because I Yawn. Maybe it means that I have to inhale more, longer? Can this cause again hyperventilation symptoms? All information about this is very welcome Thanks!!! Pieter |

I think you are doing fine. Just let things flow and see how they progress.

Thank you Alain. That makes sense, I think it is for me a way to release stress. I presume if it was lack of oxygen, I would be yawning a lot doing other things too, but it really is mainly when I sweep and breathe.

I hate to mention the obvious, but people yawn when they are tired from not having had enough sleep and rest, or a poor quality of sleep. Are you sleeping well? Sleeping long enough? Paying attention to your own unique circadian rhythyms? Waking up frequently? Have undiagnosed sleep apnea? Anxiety? Taking medication that interferes with sleep, like Prednisone? Taking medications like antihistamines, which cause drowsiness? Have pain or discomfort at night? Frequent urination at night? Does your spouse snore? Are you sleeping long enough?
Well, you get the picture, yes? Yawning can be caused by things unrelated to energy work or running energy. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Ali, Ali Practitioner and Instructor http://healinghandsminnesota.com Turn your face to the sun -- The shadows fall behind. |

Well said.

Thanks for that. And as you said, that is stating the obvious. However, even when I am not tired I yawn as soon as I run energy on myself, and sometimes when I run energy on others. The idea that it could be a release sounds like a likely explanation to me - I even wonder whether I release for others when I yawn when working with them.

If you are empathic by nature the answer may be yes.
