The SC book says that the U-nan is a tetrahedral.
My dict. says that is a solid with a 4 sided floor and 4 triangler sides, like a pyramid.
I have read and I believe that the pyramid has an astral counterpart underneath which would make it a perfect figure and that gives it its power!
How do the colors of the u-nan work out with a 3D image, or is it just a 2D drawing- like figure. This seems why I have had no success with it. In fact, it upsets me a bit, as I am a sculptor and I don't like 2D!

It is viewed/drawn 2-dimensionally but is actually 3-D. When energy is sent into it, it becomes a dynamic figure that moves so quickly that it is seen as a 3-D image that is bi-terminated. It also builds chains and the dynamics then get even more amazing.

I also think it doesn't matter how you visualize the U-naan it will unfold as it has to it has got its own dynamic.

Hi Huggie,
When I'm concentrating, I perceive the triangle 3-dimensionally as "leaning back" onto the large white sphere (so that a line running through the center of the magenta and white spheres would be vertical), the three corners as smaller blue, magenta and yellow spheres, the three rods as copper, gold, and silver tubes, and the rear and bottom of the U-NAN as three transparent triangles converging to create the tetrahedral effect.

This is just my constructed perception, but it is 3-d and I can sense it when I look at the U-NAN picture. Now that I have that idea in the back of my mind, I seldom call it up to actually visualize it, even when I'm visualizing the U-NAN: I tend to just see a simplified sketch to represent it (I learned this from Alain's book when I found out he sees it in black & white!).

For me, it's kind of like imagining a cartoon charicature of Angelina Jolie: you know that's her, even though its way oversimplified. Knowing what it looks like when I concentrate on really perceiving it as described above, I just quickly visualize an icon "something like that" and press on. Seems to work fine!
