Hello friends,

I have somewhat accidentally come upon a technique that increases the power of toning. Those familiar with sound or music know of "pitch bending", where one "slides" from one tone up (or down) to the next.

For those who don't understand, imagine the sound of a car accelerating from 0 to 60. It starts off at one note and gradually increases that note HIGHER AND HIGHER with that speed!

I think of Pitch Sliding when toning as doing just that to the energy! Accelerating it, taking the vibration higher and higher!

Since no human has an unlimited range of vocal chords, and we are not all singers, simply keep bringing your note up until you are happy with the level of joy or energy in your notes. Every time I do this I crack a smile, so you will see what I mean. I find a 4th feels just right for me.

I haven't tested with bringing the pitch down because I have a hunch this would have a "downer effect" and I'm a sucker for "uppers." So keep bringing it up! Rev those engines!

Coming down in pitch can also be associated with a lowering of one's "walls," thereby reaching a greater state of allowing. It can also be associated with "entrainment to quiet" as we do when doing the Yin work in Quantum Touch. Fewer cycles per second can be calming...an example is that when the Dalai Lama sings his healing chant, at several points he lowers his voice two full octaves, sliding down first one octave and then immediately a second octave. At these points in the chant, people (myself included) experience chills, a deep "Aaahhhhhhh," and a strong feeling of profound peace, openness, and connectedness to "higher places." This is definitely not a "downer!"

So any note or series of notes, or sliding notes, can elicit feelings of love and connectedness, to different individuals at different times. While we are getting and holding a high vibration when doing QT, we can allow for ANY tones to be effective. If you have the expectation that a lower note will be a "downer," then for you, that will be true.

I play Native American flutes, have 20 or so, in keys ranging from High C to very low B flat, and it is that profoundly low-toned flute, that sounds like a tenor sax, that moves me the most, when doing healing work with music. When I tone silently, I am, in my head, playing flute music, and usually on that low flute...so that is what works for me. The entrainment to the quietness allows greater opening and greater flow for me, without fail.

My point in putting this down is that a higher - frequency tone is not necessarily better than a lower tone...it's what works for you on a given day. Keep on singing!!

What I just wrote reminds me of a little story.

For eleven years I belonged to a Native American spiritual group that met every Saturday evening at the Lake Harriet Community Church in Minneapolis, and I carried the key to the church. I'd go early to open the building, turn on lights and get things ready for the larger group soon to arrive. We used a room called The Garden Room adjacent to the main sanctuary of the church.

The main sanctuary is circular and has a large dome. Most Saturdays I would arrive at the church about an hour early, because that room is my favorite place in the whole world to play NA flutes....the acoustics there are fabulous!

One evening I went, unlocked the church and was (I thought) alone in the building, sitting under the dome, playing, completely lost in the music, when I heard a sound at the back of the sanctuary. Unbeknown to me, some people were downstairs in the Sunday School Hall cleaning, and they had heard the flute music, were curious, and so had crept up the stairs to see what was going on. They thought THEY were alone in the building, too.

They came down the aisle, five people, and I kept playing...I could not stop....and they made a small circle around me, wordlessly, and then, they began to tone. I get shivers writing this, you had to be there.

After a period of time, I have no idea how long, they simply smiled, and again without a word being spoken, walked back downstairs and out of sight. I never saw them again, nor do I know who they were, except members of that congregation, but till my dying day, I will never forget that experience.

What I remember most is the FEELING of that....the sounds were awesome of course, but it's the emotion, the feeling, that will stay with me forever. It was years and years ago, but when I desire to call that feeling, that immense opening, that emotion, back into consciousness, for whatever reason (healing session) it is so easy, because it was SO profound.

So I know very well, the power and grace of toning. May you each experience the same...it changes you forever.

Oh, Yes! I love to do ptich bending while running the energy. I use it mainly with distance sessions or I do it in my mind rather than out loud. I've not yet gotten totally comfortable toning in front of clients. Though I have done it some times.

Yesterday I was working on a very psychic person while in a room full of people. I was toning very, very low to myself. When I said to her that I was getting the urge to tone but was doing it silently she said, "I was wondering why I was hearing this really low voice".

That was slightly off-topic, but I do agree with the recommendation to use ptich-sliding.

when tuning on a chakra what i do is very the pitch up and down to see where it resonates on myself or who ever and where ever. This allows me to dial in on it so to speak,then bringing the chakra into its proper spin. There are tones that work excellent for each chakra.

I also do something similar. I begin to run QT, then tone in to a client. Then as I facilitate the universal energy, I also notice that the tone that seems to resonate also increases, where it was not able to when I started the facilitation. Then I ask the client if they feel diff & they almost always say that they feel "better." It's like a QT verification system.
