Mary is more of a free spirit and travels where ever spirit tells her. That made it very difficult to set a workshop schedule for her and was one of the main reasons she didn't want to commit to an organized teaching schedule.

As far as I know she has no books out. When we first worked with Mary I would from time to time contact her with questions. She had moved 3 times in six months to different cities and states as she felt "led" to go there. I don't know if the office has kept track of her or not, you would have to ask them.

What is the "actual" truth is a loaded question as everyones ability to perceive and interpret what they perceive is somewhat unique. I found that what Mary perceived I also perceived, we would often being working on something or with someone together and we would both turn to each other and say "did you see that!!" and then laugh.

As you say there is so much "stuff" out there, how to choose? For me I play with an idea or technique for a while. Then ask myself does this excite me or talk to me? Can I relate to it and does it seem to "grow" me. I will often watch the energy of the teacher and the students to see if what is being taught is being assimilated as well as offered with a genuineness; then tweak it a bit and see what happens when I try it again.

There are also some things that I hear about and sometimes from a sense of knowing, sometimes from previous experience just set off my BS meter way to high and (whether correctly or incorrectly) just stay away from that.

With the SC work, I tried every exercise and worked with them for months seeing how they worked for me and whether they actually caused a change for the people I tried them on as well as those I showed the techniques to. Consistently I had better results and so did the students. That is one of the major tellers of what you are doing is useful and probably the best feedback you can get.

For example with the Core work we experimented for 2 years prior to offering the class. Same for the Core 2. We designed a technique or modified one and adapted it and then experimented over and over until we felt that we had consistent results and then started showing the techniques to others to get feedback and see how they worked for them. This is one of the reasons it takes so long to evolve new material and classes.

In Mary's case with the SC class she had experimented for 15 years with unique techniques and after months of blending them with the QT work she found many matches and that it augmented the QT work very pleasantly. Thus a class was born after she and Richard worked together, pretty much non-stop, for several months. I came in toward the end of that synthesis and added my view and then we put the class together eventually ending up with what you have today.

thanks alain for your informative explanation...we appreciate and are assimilating the experience as best we can for where we are..now...which is changing as we learn and expand......just need to remember that we have all the "time" we need to do this...and enjoy the journey !
