All Non-forgiveness is a resistance.

"NON-FORGIVENESS IS LIKE DRINKING POISON EVERY DAY AND THINKING IT WILL KILL OR HARM THE ONE YOU AREN'T FORGIVING!"

Imagine you are holding on to someone, very tightly with your left hand, while with your right, you are hitting them and yelling "GO AWAY! Get away from me!"
Thats what Resistance is! Very much so in the case of Non-forgiveness.
So if you are finding it very difficult to forgive someone, try to feel the resistance and let go of that first.
When you forgive someone, the next step is to love them. If you can do that then you are only ONE step from UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, with all its benefits!
If you are not forgiving someone, you will carry them and the resistance, in your heart for all the rest of your life.
