The Sacred Hum

At the moment I am reading Stuart Wilde's book "the Sixth Sense" ( am a big fan of him for years ) and one of the things that got my attention was his search for the Sacred Hum.For some time now I find the well known Om, the deep sound sung by the Thibetan monks does not feel right to me now (used to love it). My personal feeling is that as mankind is evolving to a Higher energy vibration this Sacred Hum is also becoming higher.I find it to deep now and than I read this:

Excerpt from the book:
Supposedly, certain Taoist monks used sound to open a transdimensional gateway into an other world. At first I was influenced and confused by the sound of the Om; I always felt it was not quite the sound I was looking for. It was too deep, and sacred as the sound is it never seemed quite right. Then I read a pamflet by Cloe Wordsorth on Holographic Repatterning, whch is a process that uses harmonics for healing. She pitches the Om at 136.10 Hz on a scale, whereby A=220. Using tuning forks, I came to realize that the sacred hum must be in or around F-sharp. Years ago a friend who specialized in kinesiology, which uses muscle testing to diagnose energy flows, told me he considered F-sharp very invigorating and strengthening for human muscles. Smiler

Stuart Wilde also mentiones that music has etheric colour. Part comes from the frequency, and part from the human emotion. The colour of music is an inner-sight phenomenon, but you don't have to see it to feel the colour. The music talks to you in its emotional colours: anger - dark; music of an intellectual nature - yellow; sadness - orange; open and simple music - green.
Music that aspires to climb would be blue going into indigo and than beyond that to violet S. W. tells that his old teacher talked a lot about the violet sound of music. It is pristine and often angelic in its nature. There is a lot of it in Mozart's compositions.

Smiler Smiler SmilerNext week I am going to Stuart Wilde's seminar in Amsterdam, am so exited and looking forward to at last meet him in person. I love his humourous look on and writing about spirituality.

Everything is vibration. What starts us oscillating or vibrating at a specific level can be quite unique.

Play with tones ie frequencies of sound for yourself till you find a tone that sets you to an octave that elevates and transports you.

Certain words do that as well. All is frequency at this level. Om is really A O M. A sound that is produced in the back of the throat, middle of the mouth and then at the lips. A type of circle. That is what it is doing, creating a cyclic flow. Try it without wondering what it means or even assigning a meaning to it at any level. Just the three sounds varied by the shape of the mouth and where the sound is produced.

I am curious if the above suggestion makes any difference for you. If AOM isn't quite "it" experiment till one of them opens you. HUM is another. Then simple monotones work as well.

Enjoy Smiler

Hi Pinky,

When I am working on a client distant or otherwise, that has a kidney stone or tumor, I find toning or humming in the lowest possible note will actually cause the tumor or stone to vibrate. So I know humming can be a very powerful tool.

Many Blessings

Once upon a time, I had real bad sciatica 100% pain 24/7. A friend called and argued me into attending a lecture by Stuart W.
As I left afterwards I suddenly realized that I had had NO SCIATICA PAIN for that two hours!

Different sounds or musical keys will work differently on different days for me. I play Native American flutes, and over a period of 25 or so years, have nickled and dimed my way up to a fine collection numbering 21. Each flute is made in the Key of....something. All are made by master flutemakers and are perfectly tuned.

I have flutes from Low Bb to High C....a very wide range. The Low Bb sounds like a tenor sax. It's a huge flute! In approximately mid-range in the array of flute keys, is the Key of F#, mentioned in the post that started this thread. That is considered by some to be a "universal" or mid-range key that is pleasing to the most listeners. Not too high, not too low, pleasing to the ear.

I will pick up a flute several times a day, & maybe play for ten minutes. My favorite Key is Low E, but there are times when all the other flutes and keys will call to me. It IS all vibration. When I tone silently, I am playing a flute in my head, and I usually play some NA flute music when I have clients here for sessions. I play it for me, to help me to raise my vibration...it's pleasant for the client, but I really play it for ME. (My secret, LOL.)

There are several places on Earth where it is said that a sacred humming sound may be heard. One of them is at a vortex area near Sedona, AZ. When I was there, I listened for it. There WAS a humming sound that was not traffic, or machinery. Its frequency is low, almost at lower end of audibility, so low that at times, I swear I could feel the vibration as well as hear it. I'm not sure what causes it, and not sure in what way it may be sacred, but I did experience it...an awesome experience of a natural phenomenon.

The vibratory rate of the Earth is about 8Hz....very low and slow, and not within the range of human hearing. I wonder if some of these humming sounds that exist here and there are the result of resonance and entrainment -- In places, are the tectonic plates and the rock that constitutes them "set" or shaped to resonate in harmonic ways with the natural 8 Hz. vibration, making a hum that is just audible to some humans?

Interesting to think about, yes?

THANK you ALL for your insightful and helpful replies. So Interesting to know how you use sound. I am more the type for using the inward sound. I feel a bit awkward doing it with a client and I have to think of my hubby too for he will think I have gone babanana's. ( if he does not think it already ) Wink
babanana's made a mistake writing it but I will leave it for I like it this way.

Guess the silent works too, I do a lot of silent speaking too.

Interesting the link you gave One Light
I have never seen S W. when he was young really loved it.

Later on I might have a question I will post it's something S.W. said about reincarnation during the seminar but am not yet ready want to work it out a bit more by myself. ( you curious now? ha ! You might be disappointed though and think "was that all?" Roll Eyes )
