Linda, how very interesting, odd, creepy, and frightening (the latter for the little one!). There have been many folks around the world whom have reported this phenomena; it's almost always associated (in their opinion/experience only) as being connected to a malevolent earthbound or discarnate, as Lynn calls things that aren't, and never were, human. However, I've come across a similar smell in old historic battlefields, places where horrific crimes were committed (murder especially), or where I've encountered an earthbound whom did not know they were deceased and were extremely confused. It's a physical cue of energy signature from them telling those of us observant enough that something wasn't "right" there with them, and they need help, attention, or have unsettled issues around their deaths. As you can imagine, battlefields and places where innocent lives were taken are charged full of that type of emotional outpouring. Earthbounds can either be attached to places, or people (which is most often the case, even if there's no relation present ~ they see the goodness in some people and just attach due to that missing piece in their death-state).
To be completely objective about what you/the family experienced (or still are), if the family had/has a continual phenomena such as this occurring, it's very possible the house, or one of them, is "haunted" ~ especially if checking the flooring, walls, and ceilings for mice, birds, etc. that could have died and be decaying has turned up nothing (and even then, that strong of a smell leaves after a period of only a month for small animals, max). Their best option to get to the bottom of it, on a factual level, is to do research on the property's history. Land, deed, property records; any deaths reported on the premises; what the land where the house actually stands originally was ~ all these are significant clues into what could be going on and who (or what) the entity could be.
Another option they have is to do their clearing/cleansings from a completely loving and compassionate point of directive, and allow no fear to be present when doing them. Fear of the unknown tends to attract things to us, even if subconsciously. (That whole Secret thing: even the things we do NOT want will come into our experience if we focus on, and think about, and feel emotion towards, them.) If they do their cleansings from a place of "we care about you, you are Loved, and you are wanted on the Other Side/in the Light/back Home by your loved ones and friends," it will connect to them on some level they may not have had any contact with for many, many years. That's compassion in purest form...assisting another from the Love in your heart to help themselves.
For the little one, I'll be more than happy to assist you distantly with a bubble of protective white light for her. I don't think she's in any danger; merely her mind is more open (as most kids are) and she can see the entity(-ies), and it frightens/startles her (as most kids are when they see things like that).
Back last year, Sheri, another Fambly member here, was having similar issues in her home, and I was able to connect to her home's energy and find out what was going on there. I may be able to do that again; it's been some time, but I'm always up for a challenge in good intention. All I'd need is your friend's permission to assist in any way I can, and a bit more information about her home's location so I can pinpoint it for "travel" there.
In the meantime, I'll be praying and sending added energy your way for your friends' endeavors to help this situation come full circle and be complete...in peace.

As for the EVP work I mentioned, you can use a regular cassette tape recorder, a minicassette recorder, or a digital recorder. As you found out, recorders on video cameras also work. My suggestion to you, considering you've already picked up piano music, is to take some type of recording device and place it on the steps, porch, or any other flat surface of the building that's easily & safely accessible. Let it record for about 15 minutes with no other noise interference, for example, don't talk just yet unless it's to note a vehicle making noise in the background, a bird, plane, etc. that might be picked up and throw your recording off. After you do this, then do a short 5 minute recording of questions you ask "them" to answer for you. Examples: What is your name, how many are there of you here, what year is it, are you frightened/lonely/upset/angry/sad, are you male/female, is this your home, do you like company. All these questions are great starting places, as it gives them "center stage" to get a message across, without the emphasis on being deceased. Remember: sometimes they don't know they've passed away, so you'll want to gently lead them to that realization. A good clue in figuring that piece out is if you go back and review the tapes, and you get a year that is way far off from what year we're currently in, it's possible they are stuck in their time due to not knowing they've passed. (I can't tell you how many times I've had to pull out a calendar or my cell phone and show one or two what year it is now.)
While asking the questions you choose to ask, it's a good idea to wait 15-30 seconds between questions. This gives them ample time to be able to come through with an answer or a statement. Just ask the questions aloud in your speaking voice, then give them time, and ask your next one. 10-20 questions is plenty to start out with.

Hehe, well, hate to spoil the entertainment, but to cut a long story short: nothing happened.

I went back and arrived at around 14:00 hours. There was a lot of sun and I was able to take good pictures of the house. They came out completely normal. I was not looking for action, but it would have been nice if there would have been some confirmation of an "activity".

I did wonder about one photo. If you look at DSCF7132.JPG at its full size, you can see a whitish spot right next to the most right bush. Probably, this is just the wall.

While we're at it: DSCF7104 at its full size. Right above the grass and in the bottom part of the trees, just left to the left staircase. Anyone notice anything peculiar?? Probably just my imagination..


I also made a few short recordings, but probably too short (max 5 minutes). They seemed normal as well.

Anyway, thank you, Ashley for explaining how to take an EVP! I did not try it the right way. Did talk to anything that might have been there and said it was safe to leave... (Used Huggies explanation. Thank you, Huggie!)

However, I did tell them "I'll be back". Tried to avoid the German accent, though. :-) If I did not send them away all at once (if something was still there), I hope I can find a confirmation of their presence, next time. It is all so fascinating..

It is said that there used to be gatherings of witches and satanists. They used to position dead birds on the ground in a circle or hang raw meat on the walls. The person, who "discovered" this house, states that the "activities" may diminish because of this. Perhaps, there is not so much anymore as there used to be?? Then again, my first photos are not completely normal either.

We'll see. I have to return for the EVP and have a serious (longer) talk. Problem now was, that is was broad daylight. People could easily see me walking around the house, talking and making pictures of a decayed house. It must make a crazy impression.

Finally, I discovered yesterday, that there is also a "ghost wind mill" in the same town. :-) It is believed that there are underground tunnels, connecting it to the ghost house.
All I need now, is an address, and then...

Sniff - I must be a very poor ghosthunter.... I opened the pictures in a picture program and enlarged them and could see nothing at all. The enlarged orbs look like moisture to me - but I wasn't there and this isn't my thing... Myself, I think the house is awesome (in daylight) kind of sad with the current state but I don't pick up bad juju. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to see the photos - they were good quality so they could enlarge quite a bit. Sleuthing is fun! Love and light to all - and to the house!

Hi, Jana! Thank you for looking! I can completely understand you. It just seems so weird there are white spots, because it was not raining, and the spots move. Apart from my "findings" different people came up with the same spots on their photos. I have never had these on other photos. People have reported failing cars and electronics near this house. Others report a call coming in on their cell phone. There are also people with voices on their EVP's. Undoubtedly, half of this is not true, but the other half? :-)

"The Ghosthunter" discovered the ghosthouse from Sas van Gent (1996).

This has been a very nice subject to do, especially to reveal the truth to see if it was really true what the paragnosts have been telling all along. And as for the haunting: we already knew that.
Everyone of the media who had visited the place, had experienced something strange. No matter how sceptical they were, everybody had his/her own problem that day. This ghost house has internationally been covered by the radio, TV and news papers from both The Netherlands and Belgium.

Short report (1996/97):
The house is located at the border between Holland and Belgium. It has been empty for 46 years. One would expect, that someone would love to renovate the house. For some reason, however, this has not happened for all of those years.

One night, I passed by on my bicycle and took a couple of photographs. It was already getting dark, which attributed to the ghostly atmosphere.
After developing the photos, I saw a ghost sitting in front of the window, although there was no floor or roof anymore.

At my request, three paragnosts paid a visit to the house and also had a look at the photos. The photos were marked with hints. Every paragnost gave his/her reply.

Michel, this is all very interesting but i have to ask do you know any of the houses' history? Who the previous owner/s were, anything about this house other than it has been abandoned for 46 years. I am interested, maybe others are as well!

Thank you for your respons. I am in clined to conclude it is not and was not and never has been human. Just from what i witnessed and have been told of things they have already been studied and concluded.

they did all of the checks of mice and or dead animals. it was not the case. I have smelled dead mice and alive infestations and it was no where close to dead mouse smell it is a sharp pugnant smell, almost stings the nose. this was a heavey pugnant smell with a heat behind it.

like I said before she does her cleansing and blessing, meaning: of good and honest place not of fear but of love to guide the entity out towards the light. she is a high preistess in her circle, she has some guides and psycic abilities of her own, and a good head on her shoulders.

everyone she has talked to is stumped.

I'll call her and see if she would like to have you help her out. she may let it go, they might be moving soon the land owner may want to move back in.

Linda, I just wish there was something someone could do to help so they wouldn't have to move out. The additional info you provided suggests that they are dealing with some type of malevolent force that simply will not leave. Gotta love the stubborn ones. :P

They are not moving because of this/these entities, the owner and his girlfriend broke up and he is staying with his mother next door and is wanting to move back in. so they may have to move.
