None taken Ali Smiler i was only passing on what had been written, but actually, thats a very valid point about the glasses, you have just taught me a lesson....always treat these suggestions with caution, dont go head in & try them immediately without doing some research, so thank you love...good point Smiler

Just a note: Why not use isopropyl rubbing alcohol? Because it's a different alcohol with different molecular structure and is a mild nerve toxin. This is why it should never be used for making herbal extracts, while vodka is fine for this purpose. Isopropyl may be nice for cleaning, but I wouldn't use it on, in, or around my body.

Hi Everyone Smiler

Yes, oil-pulling definately works, but let me offer a warning.

don't hold the same oil in your mouth for 20 minutes assuggested. It draws an aweful lot of toxins out of the system and if you keep the oil in your mouth that long many of them will be reabsorbed through the mouth.

The way to make this therapy most effective is to only hold the oil in the mouth for 3-4 minutes at a time, spit it out and use fresh.

If you're really toxic the oil will go watery before that. As soon as it does dump it.

Also remember to wash your mouth out with bicarb andthen toothpaste(flouride free, of course) afterwards.

Happy pulling!

Hello everyone,

I have been oil pulling for 3 months now. I use organic cold-pressed sesame oil. Don't mind the taste one bit. My teeth a whiter, my heals are not dry any longer and I have lost 5 lbs. Keeps the plaque off teeth also and just feels like its good oral hygiene. Smiler

Luv,
Nita

Just thought I'd give an update on positive results (nothing else to atribute them to):
Teeth are definately whiter.
Bowel movements (which haven't been a problem) are a touch looser, maybe smoother is a better word, and a bit more frequent.

Blessings, Love and Laughter, and Big Warm Hugs,

Did any of you oil-pullers feel an increase in sensation when doing the QT-breathing? I felt like I had more sensations, but not too sure if it was due to oil pulling, but seemed to have started ard the same time, so just wanted to know if others have similar experiences.

I'm in; got my sunflower oil last night and did the swishy thing! I did it again this morning. Better than flossing I would say Smiler
I have only done it twice and my pegs feel like there is a reduction in plaque (yuky stuff).
Time will tell

Thank you all for your posts

OK, guys, you got me interested! I just started a couple days ago. Not surprisingly, I don't feel any difference yet, but I like doing it (except that my jaws get tired pretty quickly - guess the daily exercise will make them stronger soon...)

One thing - I don't understand so many people saying they hate the sesame oil. I decided to start with that since the Ayurvedic people suggest it. It's quite mild with a slight pleasantly nutty after-taste. Really puzzled by the distase some people feel for it! I'm wondering if you're using toasted sesame oil? If you are - don't! Get the regular, light-gold oil-pressed kind - it's quite pleasant!

Does anyone else have a bitter taste in the mouth after doing the pulling? Maybe this is just the result of getting toxins out.
