... since poetry is sometimes the way to say it.

I have thought of energy as fire,
as roaring wind.

But lately,
and I do not know
what this means

lately it seems
the energy flows
like water between
cold clods in spring
soft, kind, moving
unpredictable.

This is a great idea! The poets among us should share their poetry in this thread! Here's a short poem I wrote a few years ago about a person faced with changes in her life.

---------

Bereft of my cherished shackles
I shudder toward my new-found fortune
Untried choices chafe at my content
I tighten my coat and stride into
A fearsome, hopeful future

strong fire, gentle water
I see no inside or out
the flow never ends

What a curious thing
it is to change a thing
by wrapping it in space
and watching it to see
what interesting things
might emerge, dissolve,
evanescing. And what was
is thinned, a ghost, and gone...
What a curious thing!
