Hi, everyone,

For the last few months I've been living on the financial edge. Last month, I had to borrow money to pay my rent. I keep finding out that I have little money in my account.

I have to pay my rent this month, and guess what?

Yes, I don't have enough in my account.

I just went through my financial statement for last month. I've been getting paid by my clients.

However, I saw just how much I've been SPENDING.

And it's huge.

I've been working a lot, which means I eat lunch at a restaurant. That's one expense. When I get off work, more often than not, I'm too tired to cook. So I get dinner at another restaurant.

Today, I went grocery shopping for the first time in ages, so I'm eating food I actually COOKED.

I'm going through therapy right now, so for a while, I thought my lack of money had to do with the cost of therapy. I added it up, and discovered that even with the cost of the sessions, along with rent, utilities, Social Security, and insurance, the amount is far less than I had thought.

Lately, I've been concentrating on having more money, having an abundance of other things as well, blessing my money, thinking that the money I spend will come back to me a thousandfold, etc.

Well... so far, no tangible effect.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to bring financial abundance into my life WITHOUT a) being reckless with money, or b) counting every penny?

I would start each day and end each day with a few powerful afformations. Maybe things like:

Why do I have everything I need and want?
Why does money keep coming to me from so many different sources?
Why do I feel so blessed and prosperous?

I would also write in my gratitude journal EVERY day five things that I'm grateful for. And then keep it handy to read whenever I start to feel poorly.

If you can really embrace the words to that old song, it would help:
"Ya gotta -
Ac-centuate the positive
Elimi-minate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative"
The steps up above help you to get there.
Every time you feel the "pressure" of not having enough money (yes, been there, done that) - as soon as you're aware of that feeling, notice where it's coming from. Ususally it's from the words "What if"
We build up and feed most of our fear with these words.
So, the key is to replace those words and fear with that which you desire.
Ergo - afformations ready to focus on. Instilling the habit of gratitude....
Hope this helps.
If you follow it faithfully, I guarantee it will work!

Hi En,
In the way you described situation you are now in - it'll be good to check some of underlying believes.

You may start with these questions, (and they are only for your insight no need to answer them to anyone else). You may also muscletest each statement-question to find does this rings to you.
Who says? I'm not allowed (not being good, lazy, not feeding properly... etc) to eat in restaurants?
Who says I'm not good for eating both lunch and dinner outside the house (home)?
Why do I feel the need to explain myself about the ways how am I spending my well earned money?
To whom do I explain myself mostly-( parents, husband, boss?)
From whom do I need approval on how to lead my life?
Who said that it is not good to spend money only on/for yourself? (Did you have to share something of value to you with siblings when younger?
Why do I feel overwhelmed when dealing with bills? – (here you may practice gratitude towards all the people who believe in you and your ability to prosper so that they kept sending you bills)

There may be a link between believing that you are not eating proper food – not giving yourself the best nutritients = not giving yourself proper nourishment = not giving yourself best – not giving yourself enough good money (also energy).
Also you may whish to check this belief:
why doing something good for you (therapy) is also something that have bad effects on your life(money situation)? Is it allowed to do something which is good "ONLY" for you?

Or it may be that you are not allowing it to come to you since you still hold belief that money is not that important, or money is bad... or whatever similar.

I hope that insights which you will gain from questions written above will bring new prosperity path for you.
With Love,
Jelena

Simple financial advice. If you don't have it don't spend it. Wink

I have a bit of trouble getting to the end of the month no matter how much or little I have. The little things add up more quickly that we think. First, figure out what your expenses are. Next, figure out your income. (Or the other way around. Wink ) Then figure out your "allowance." Take that out of the bank in cash. Spend it on whatever you like. When it's gone -- stop spending -- do not dip into the bank account. Plan ahead for larger or seasonal expenses, vacation, taxes due, change of season wardrobe updates, etc..

The suggestions others have made are excellent in the spiritual and emotional aspects. Mine are more where the rubber hits the road kind of thing. We're multi-faceted and need multi-faceted approaches.

Good luck! Big Grin

That's an interesting question about the therapy. It's been causing some panic attacks, as I posted recently, which means some rather unusual behavior for me, quite possibly including overspending.

I grew up in a penny-pinching household (we were pretty broke), and for a long time, I hardly ever spent anything on myself.

Now, looking at the bank statement, I realize that most of my money went on food.

I've been wondering if there's something significant in that.

It's easy to overspend on food. Stop going to restaurants and start making your meals ahead of time. Make enough at one time that you can get a couple of meals out of it. Make sandwiches. Whatever...just stop going to restaurants except for couple of times a month. That will make a huge difference!
