Hi,
PETROCHEMICALS/OIL-INGREDIENTS This post all started with my daughter using a lip balm for years and years. She was so dependent of it that she had to use it many times a day. When you read this post you will understand why. Just recently I heard of all the bad stuff in for example lipbalm I had a look and was shocked Oil ingredients or petro-chemicals are made of wastematerials from the oil-and petrol/gas industry. The are saturated/crude oil (paraffine) which seals the skin as a grease layer. They suffocate the skin, so no oxigen can reach the skin and toxins can not be released.Through this there is a greater risk of Acne, skin cracking/grooves and early aging of the skin. Moreover a dependance/addiction originates through the use of the products of petrochemical ingredients : the skin does not make their own skin grease and will start to feel dry and uncomfortable the moment you stop with the creams and lotions in which parafine is the major component. There are very good creams and lotions for sale without the parafine and petrochemical ingredients. Maybe you are asking why these oil ingredients are used in cosmetic and skin care products while they are so harmful. First because of their antibacterial effect and because they are very well absorbed by the skin. Second the aim of the manufacturer is to sell as much as possible to make a good profit. Remember all these products are by-products of the oil-gas industry. A lot of money is earned this way. Examples of oil/gas ingredients are: This is a by-product of petrol that envelopes the skin with a plastic-like layer,by which the pores get clogged. It hinders the skin in releasing toxins, and can result in acne and other skin problems. It slows the skin function and cell growth, which in turn results in early skin aging. When absorbed by the body it is indigestible for the body. These fats disolve the natural fats of the skin and does not make new skin fats. The moment you stop using these products with this sort of ingredients the skin will start to feel dry and uncomfortable. Paraffine suffocates the skin, no oxigen can reach the skin and toxins can not be released. This is liquid vaseline/paraffine, a mineral oil-jelly. This vaseline/paraffine could be the cause of over sensitivity for light and the removal of essential oils from the skin, where by the skin dries and skin cracking/grooves can occur and early skin aging. Furthermore it prohibits elimination of toxins, which in turn can cause acne and skin deseases. Other petrochemicals are: Micro Wax Ozokerit Ceresin Eucerin (dit is een mix van natuurlijke en minerale olie) Cera microcristallina Isoparaffin (C11-12-13-14) Eucerit Microcrystalline wax Ozokerite Paraffinum-liquidum Parrafinum-subliquidum PVP/VA copolymeer Acetone (Aceton) Ceresin Propyl alchol/ Propanol Isopropanol/Isopropyl alcohol It is advisable to stop using these products for they can harm not only our skin but also our health. This information comes from a Dutch site but I am sure there is one in the US. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Pinky, |

Burt's Bees makes a nice lip balm without the icky stuff in it. There's another at Whole Foods Market with vitamin E and no icky stuff -- I can't remember the name. Quality products are hard to find, especially when we have to wade through all the deceptively labeled ones, but they are available. I used to keep a lip balm everywhere: my purse, my coat pocket, my desk drawer, my nightstand -- until I started using one without icky stuff. Now I use one only when the weather is particularly cold or windy. The stuff IS addictive.

This is a link to the Dutch site.
The names will probably be the same everywhere. http://www.heelnatuurlijk.nl/images/print_lijst.pdf I'll translate: Print this list Check the list to be sure you get the safe products. It's possible a product has a lot of the safe ingredients but one. BTW natural products do'nt have to be more expensive than the products you use now. Be creative and create alternatives that are safe for you and the environment. Sweet Almond oil is ideal as a body oil (instead of body lotion)and can be used around the eyes(instead of anti wrinkel cream)See recepies. If you know of more safe products we would like to hear from you. If you want me to translate any recepies let me know. Love and Light Pinky |

Be careful of Burt's Bee's Red lipstick/chapstick. It contains lead.
I read a warning list of lead in lipcolors, and most of them were all shades of red. I was shocked to see Burts Bee's on the list as well. Ven |

FASTING BEFORE CHEMO
This was in a yesterday's April 4 Dutch newspaper. Fasting before Chemo. NAS research. It said: Fasting a few days before a chemo could help against unwanted side effects of chemo. Body cells go into a sleep situation and will not be damaged. The cancer cells though will stay alive and will react to the chemo. The NAS has come to this conclusion through the study on mice. I don't see anything on the label that could be interpreted to be lead. Peace on Earth & in your Heart To request a Quantum Thought Collective Healing Intention (QT CHI): http://quantumtouch.groupee.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6311071811/m/4371031152 |

Tropical Rainforest
Rainforests now cover less than 6% of Earth's land surface. Scientists estimate that more than half of all the world's plant and animal species live in tropical rain forests. Tropical rainforests produce 40% of Earth's oxygen. About 1/4 of all the medicines we use come from rainforest plants. Curare comes from a tropical vine, and is used as an anesthetic and to relax muscles during surgery. Quinine, from the cinchona tree, is used to treat malaria. A person with lymphocytic leukemia has a 99% chance that the disease will go into remission because of the rosy periwinkle. More than 1,400 varieties of tropical plants are thought to be potential cures for cancer. |

You need to eat quality protein. But this seemingly simple task keeps getting trickier…
More meats are now “packaged” and you may be eating more of them than you think. For example: Do you eat breakfast sausage or bacon with your eggs, luncheon meet in a sandwich or a frozen “dinner entrée”? Even scarier - most parents I know are now giving their kids prepackaged meals on a regular basis. Here’s the origin of our modern problem: Meat has a short shelf life. To keep selling meat for longer, food manufacturers add nitrites and nitrates. They prevent spoilage, growth of bacteria and makes meat appear red, fresh and vibrant. Then, they add artificial flavors so you can’t tell that you’re eating old, stale meat. We’ve known about the dangers of nitrites and nitrates for decades. In fact, the USDA attempted banning their use back in the 1970’s. The meat packing industry lobbied hard and won. Research has shown and “reconfirmed” that nitrites and nitrates promote life threatening cancers including: Breast cancer Prostate cancer Pancreatic cancer Colorectal cancer Leukemia One study conducted at the University of Hawaii found people who ate even “moderate” amounts of processed meat on a regular basis increased their risk of pancreatic cancer by a whopping 67%!1 The World Cancer Research Fund issued a report stating that “it’s best that processed meats are avoided,” and that “they were not able to find a level at which processed meat could be reliably considered completely safe.”2 Check the label of the meat you’re about to buy. Unless the label says “nitrite/nitrate free” it’s a good bet it contains nitrites/nitrates. Your best meat is also hormone-free and antibiotic-free. Even better, you can do as I do and only eat grass-fed meat. I get mine from US Wellness meats.www.grasslandbeef.com It’s grass-fed for a healthy ratio of omega 3’s to omega 6 fats, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and has no preservatives. They ship it to your door packed in dry ice. From Al Sears, MD Newsletter. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Pinky, |

Great information Pinky. One of the reasons I started making the beeswax/plant based products I do was because of what I found out about petrolium products. I was a big user of mineral oil back in the early 90's. I used it after every shower. My eyesight improved after I stopped. I found out petrolium products leach the A, D, E and K vitamins from your body.
Venice can you tell us where the article you are referring to is, please? Burts Bees has always been known to have such great products. I didn't even know they used dyes. I did get one forwarded email about lead in lip/cosmetic products, but something sounded fishy to me. I checked it out at www.snopes.comand they indicated it was false. Now, I don't know whether this is the same article that Venice is referring to, and I don't remember Burts Bees stuff on the list, so it could be completely different.
Love and hugs Jen After writing this response, I went to snopes.com and read the article again. It probably isn't the same one Venice is referring to, and it doesn't say there isn'tlead in lip/cosmetic products. It says there may be lead, especially in those products that use red dye number 6, I think, but the amount is too small to be of concern. Uh, okay...I knew there was a reason I didn't use lipstick, and wear very little make-up. Here is the link to the snopes article if you want to read it. Snopes: lead in lipstick article Either way this still doesn't shed too much light on the Burt's Bees topic...sorry... This message has been edited. Last edited by: JenK, |

Good work Jen. For all we know it could be the same email, sometimes people add their own touches, I've noticed.

ohhh sorry I didn't respond sooner I forgot about this thread hahaha.
Ok here's the orginal article/list that I saw. And here is an interesting site of a man who's wife was upset about Burts Bee's having lead found in their lip gloss. She emailed them and they replied, it's posted here. http://dadtalk.typepad.com/dadtalk/2007/10/heres-what-burt.html |

Check out Sunrider lipsticks - I bought one because they claim to have no lead in them. They also have a sweetner made from the Stevia plant which I use. I also have face base made by them. They make toothpaste that is expensive but you use very very little and I think it contains no Fluoride.
http://www.sunrider.com/Eng/WebForm/Products/ProductLines.aspx The products are not easy for us to get here in Botswana and are expensive because of exchange rates, but are well worth checking out. There is a very good vegetable rinse that takes wax off the veggies. Hope this helps some people. Love Wendy "Expect miracles" |

Did you know ? I am sure you do but.....I sometimes forget so maybe you like this little reminder.
This is from The Intenders Bridge. The Bridge Reminder # 80 Getting Extra Help. You can ask your angels to talk to their angels How many times have you been in a situation where one of your good friends approached you with a drama that was seemingly hopeless? They had no idea how to proceed and no one to turn to. Perhaps it had even been going on for quite awhile with no resolution in sight. Perhaps, also, you had told your friend to make some intentions around the drama, and yet, because of their doubting nature or inexperience at manifesting, they were still up to their neck in the quicksand of the situation. In short, nothing was working. When we're in situations like this, where we really want to help someone else, but don't know where to turn, this is what we've learned to do. We go into our quiet place where we will not be disturbed, and we ask our angels to talk to their angels. I Intend that I am helping to resolve my friends' dramas by asking my angels to talk with their angels. |
