heheh what we won't talk about here.

Well lately it seems there's been a lot of commercials for 'cleansers' to git rid of the 10-20 lbs of stuff trapped in your intestinal track.

My hubby's interested in this and I'm wondering which if any products you've used or can recomend.

Also would you just go and get a colonic??? I've never had one but my parents used to go.

I have a friend who sells Enrich, and I know she loves their 'clean out' system.

Also what kind of 'around the house' time do you need? you know....umm...ya that.

Follow the directions exactly and there's no discomfort. But boy is it effective.
I much prefer this to colonics.

Hey Christina,

Thanks for sharing the website link. If you don't mind sharing a little more....what kind of changes did you experience and how often do you use the system? I checked out the website and some of the things had me laughing my ass off. I think this could help the skin issues that have been driving me nuts so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks Ven for starting this thread! It's nice to have a place that we can about everything from poop to sex and all in between as well! Eeker Roll Eyes Razzer Wink Big Grin

Christina,
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked out the site...and the photo gallery...scary. I will agree with Kim, I got quite a laugh too from the "play-by-play" testimonials. One guy especially has a great sense of humor about the whole thing, and is a great story teller. Makes me want to run out and order the stuff pronto...God only knows what is in my system, and I want it OUT! LOL Smiler

Hugs
Jen

Ok I'm definitely telling hubby about this, it's rather pricey but it does have a guarantee.

Thanks so much for that link.

As usual, I'm the buzz killer around here. :-) It's a total myth that you have pounds of undigested gunk in your bowels. Ask any doctor who has to look up there with a scope. It's far, far cleaner than you would imagine.

And as usual, I'll kindly ask you to cite your source. Smiler

I don't have a printed source. I've actually spoken to physicians about this. I'm sure we could find an online, written source if we looked for a moment, though.

That doesn't qualify as a source but it is an interesting article about several medical myths. I have no idea who wrote it, so there is no way to know if the author was qualified to write it, but it's still kind of interesting.

I'll poke around a bit more. I've found a few things that talk about it, but I'm trying to find a mention of it in a medical journal or something more verifiable.

If you want to do a bit of your own research, though, just do a Google Images search for colonoscopy. If someone has been drinking water for a day, and doesn't have some other obvious (and serious) bowel obstruction, the inside of the bowels will be quite clean other than for bacteria, which you won't see.

Here's a pretty good article on WebMD about the topic:

So you think all that gross stuff that came out is what? Made up?

I suppose that depends on what "gross" stuff you're talking about. Lots of nasty things pass through the digestive system. What I'm referring to is the idea that stuff gets stuck up in there that needs to be manually cleaned out. That is mostly a myth used to sell cleansing products.

Simply ask anyone who has had a colonoscopy and got to see the images afterward. Assuming that they didn't already have some serious blockage, and also assuming that they had been on a water diet for a day or so, the colon will be surprisingly clean and smooth.

Next time you visit a doctor, ask the doctor about it if you happen to think of it.

I'm with you on this one John - I'm sure this isn't the popular postition! Eeker

I can't cite anything either other than personal perception. Colonoscopies are the "thing" in my age group. I have seen my husbands "interior" photos, my father in law's (at age 85) and friends. (I mean, if you go through it you want to show off your pictures, right? Roll Eyes) After the clean out you do the day before, everyone was clean as a whistle - pretty and pink, with an occasional polyp and once a tiny bit of green jello that hadn't made it though! Big Grin I am sure there are people whose eating habits may create some pretty nasty stuff. But in my corner of the world, ordinary people with ordinarly diets seem to be OK "on the inside"... I have often wondered if the "herbal concoctions " you take that makes that gross stuff comes out, actually takes ordinarly feces and turns it into some kind of rubbery, contiguous waste. I wouldn't doubt that some stuff would draw stuff out of the rest of your system - detoxing. But I can't quite believe that everyones colon is that packed with goo - As with ANY condition - I accept that some people have problems....
