One thing that I read while perusing this afternoon was that some theorize the gunk is the fiber making formations in the bowel. That's logical. However, so many people feel so much better it seems. I wouldn't consider doing one of those hydro-colonics but the link that Christina posted seems tempting though expensive.

Neiby, I appreciate your posts though I find more credibility in them when you cite sources. With sources, it becomes a valid argument for or against rather than just an opinion.

I'm just trying to help people save money. If you want to spend your money on this sort of stuff, then give it a shot. If it makes you feel good, even better! Maybe there is some benefit to this other than what people purport. It could be that even though the science behind this is wrong, it may still be making people feel healthier. If that's the case then people should continue trying it to see if it works for them.

OK, I'm TOTALLY intrigued now! If this stuff DOES do what it says, I definitely want to try it! But if it's some kind of ripoff, I really don't have the money to waste!

I read through all the ingredients on everything, and all of it seems pretty straight forward. Herbs and supplements, etc. They said all these testimonials were Third party verified, but then what does THAT really mean!

On the other hand, they do say that most disease begins in the gut. And I can really see that if there's a problem, this kind of stuff could be the cause.

Also, the main ingredient in the colon stuff is psyllium. I have taken psyllium before, and it never gave me anything that looks like all that, in any way shape or form! And I've never really heard of people having those big parasites and everything! Those nasty thingies really do look like moulds of the colon.

If this stuff WAS in the colon, how would that come out looking on a scope? Would you really be able to tell it was in there?

It looks like this stuff has to basically ''break away.'' It doesn't seem to be like sludge that would just come out automatically.

I'm really confused now! But in all my years of studying herbs, I've never heard of any that would make a mould, and then break off and come out!

Well crap there is just no such thing as simple is there?

Rick and I both noticed the same things:
We each lost about ten pounds without changing anything in our diet. Not just pounds, but our "paunches" got significantly smaller.
We slept better, but also felt like we required less sleep. And we both had more energy. The kind that you wake up with and keep all day.
Yes, it's expensive, but I would recommend this for anyone who can afford it.
And yes, our poop looked similar to those pictures (well, not the really gross ones...)

So I've been perusing the Colonix site, reading several pages of the testimonials and viewing the lovely photos.

I've done the Enrich colon and parasite cleanse twice, along with my mom and my old roommate. Then I made my hubby do it when we first met about 9 years ago.

The ingredients are nearly identical (to the best of my memory here) and while 2 of us got rid of a variety of parasites and I think all of us some kind of congestion, there was nothing like those other unidentified rubbery objects. Mind you that is only a one month program (not 3) if I remember correctly, and the tea really was pleasant!

All of us felt a LOT better after the cleanse, (one person was completely ecstatic about being so regular for once!)and my mom found that all of her pain would leave after she completed the cleanse.

I remember reading or hearing once from a Naturopathic Doctor that orange juice and fibre creates an indigestible, glue-like substance in the colon. I have to wonder if that's what some of that rubbery stuff could be as some people do mention using orange juice to mix into the fiber. Most of the photos of that stuff is suspiciously the same color as psyllium. The enrich fiber drink was kind of orange in color.

However, that being said, it only accounts for a portion of the UFOs.

I would be inclined to agree with Jana, John and the Drs, that for the majority of relatively healthy, 'regular' people, there wouldn't be all this 'stuff' in the colon after a time of fasting.

But most of the people in those testimonials are not relatively healthy people. The majority have had long term problems with constipation, unusual bloating, mal-absorption and other debilitating conditions or diseases. For these people, I'm inclined to believe their stories about the variety of parasites, foul substances, and anything black in color.

I still have the image forever burned into my retinas of the most horrifyingly, large parasites my high school biology teacher kept in jars in the classroom and how he said that most of them were found inside or removed from people.

The ingredients in the supplements are quite commonly found in colon, parasite and toxin/liver cleanses. From my reading and research, they're safe to use for a short period of time, 3 months being the maximum I would personally choose to take them. The company even mentions this within some of the testimonials, that the toxin cleanse esp. is not meant for long term consumption. They also clearly state that the toxin cleanse is not safe for children, pregnant and nursing women - which I agree with. They also recommend and sell a probiotic which is essential after any toxin or parasite cleanse.

Considering the sheer number of dogs and poop in our neighbourhood,

(most dogs are one some kind of parasitic medication all year round, and the type of owner who doesn't pick up after their pets are probably more likely not actively de-worming and leaving god-knows-what on the sidewalk for my kids and I to step in *shudder*)...

and the questionable cleanliness of some of the children's play areas we've gone to, I think I'm going to take advantage of the liquid, good-tasting parasite formula they're offering and give it to my kids. I've never seen anything kid-friendly in a parasite formula. I'm also likely going to order a month of the colon/parasite cleanse for me and the hubby, if I can't get a hold of the enrich stuff first as it really is a good product.
