Is your energy a loud thought or an allowed thought? http://qtouch.org |
I have been using meditation music with my Quantum Touch sessions with excellent results. I created some on my own music combined with Theta brainwave patterns and ambient nature sounds. You can listen to samples at my qtouch.org website.
So far my wife and I have added music, tuning forks, drumming, and crystal bowls to our practice. I am interested in discovering what else people have added to the work. Breathe for Peace. Willie Attention + Intention + Imagination = Visualization and Manifestation. |

I use music on my sessions, firts I ask the clients if they like it, they always do.
On my courses I also use music during practice, and when I talk about sounds, the influence or a higher tone or lower, I tell them to make the sounds and ask the "client' wich one they like better. To show them the influence of sound, when they are working with chakras, I use a swinging bowl. It's amazing, they flush, have heart palpitation, they love it. They say it increases the field, both 'pratctitioner and client'. Wilson |

We have a set of seven crystal bowls that are suppose to align with the seven Chakras. It is interesting to play one of the bowls and see where people feel it. Rarely it is the Chakra that corresponds to the crystal bowl. Often it is where they are experiencing an energy block. Over time the block fades and the energy has a less restricted flow.
Often a client will have an emotional release with the sound too. Breathe for Peace. Willie Attention + Intention + Imagination = Visualization and Manifestation. |

Hi, Willie!
I do play music during sessions, for the most part, but my intention for doing so is probably different than most others. In my case, the intention is to use the music to help me raise my vibration, so that the client will have the highest vibration I can reach, for their entrainment. So I play music for ME. The music that soars for me is usually Native American flute music, because I collect and play that instrument. Almost everyone likes the sound, it offends nobody, does not have distracting disharmonies or thumping rhythms, comes through well at low volumes. Flute music flows--what I call horizontal music, as opposed to things with heavy rhythms, which are vertical music. Listen to any piece of music, & see if it's horizontal or vertical music. Does it flow, or does it thump? Is it harmonious or discordant? Music in a minor key is usually gentler on the ear & more peaceful than major, IMHO. I play the music in an adjacent room, so that there's no point of focus for it in the room where I do sessions...rather, it just wafts into the room gently, from no one point of origin. Horizontal. Subtle. Keep the volume low, because if you need to speak with your client, you can keep it quiet & personal, without having to speak "over" another sound in the environment. I have tons of things to use, & I do switch, because hearing the same ones all the time is numbing, and won't help me to fly and raise my vibes. Variety is good, but I stay within my parameters for style, volume and flow. Two favorites: "Mythic Dreamer" by C. Carlos Nakai (OMG he is a master!) "Japanese Melodies for Flute & Harp" Lily Laskine & Jean Pierre Rampal. This one may be out of print, but it's gorgeous. There's a lot of Celtic music out there too, very minor key and flowing, vocals like Enya and others of the same genre. Some people would consider this "elevator Muzak" but it's a case of different strokes for different folks. I don't tell anyone that I play the selected music for me, & for a specific purpose, of course. I do get a lot of positive comments about it though, especially anything by Nakai. He makes it sound so easy, & I know, because I play the instrument, that it is not!! My clients see my "flute wall" in the dining room, where I hang my collection, (I play daily) & if they ask about it, I will answer their questions...but I don't call it to their attention. So there are many reasons for using healing sound. I teach workshops now & then for women's groups about "The Healing Power of Drums and Chants," & teach them 5 chants, & I have made & decorated my drums, about half of them, have made my leather drum bag and flute cases, many drum beaters, & have personally carved a flute made for me plain by a master maker, which turned out beautiful. It is walnut, carved into a spiral, (vortex??) & has a bone dolphin leaping over a mother of pearl wave, dripping a quartz-crystal drop, on the block. Key of C#m, concert-tuned. I have a modest library of books about the power of sound, which has been part of healing for eons. The first instrument was Drum, and Woodpecker was the drummer. The second was Flute, & Wind was the flutist. If we could all trace our roots back to our original tribes, we would all find a drum and a flute there...they are universal in every culture. I have an extensive recorded library of chants, not so much Gregorian, but rather world music, African in particular. I adore chant. So do use music in some form in your work. Choose it carefully. Play it properly, and respectfully. Honor it for the fabulous blessing it is. I don't see how you can do the work in silence, it's just impossible for me. Love to all. This message has been edited. Wow, thanks for that answer Ali . . . that's a lot of great information you shared with us.
Carlos N is my number one favorite to play for sessions too. Just like you said, soft, ambient. It's usually so perfect. So, "inspiring". Blessings, Love and Laughter, and Big Warm Hugs, Chrissie |

I too play music in the background when doing a session. I vary between lots of stuff. I like the crystal bowls, some chanting but only when i am doing a distant session. I like wind harp music too. I like the one offered on the QT web site store "Golden Ratios" by James Hopkins. I have way too many to list here, but if you are interested in something specific, send me a pm and I can give you titles and artists.
