Hello! I'm deb. New to QT, but have been astounded at the things I've experienced- while simply "getting the feel" and practicing the doing- but Yo! One doesn't have to be a pro to get wondrous results!

And this brings me to a dilemna of sorts. Well, a real dillemna, but it might not make much sense to some.

My youngest son is a high-functioning, loving, fun, incredible autistic young man of 17- just turned 17 a week ago. He has many of the characteristics of autism one associates with it, however; I see his autism as a grace and gift to be helped along in our mainstream, not a disorder.

One relatively common affect of his autism is walking on the balls of his feet. This is not a physically-based attribute, it started out as self stimulatory behavior, and has been present (read, constant) since he first walked at almost 3 years of age. However, even though I was at first able to maintain range of motion and neutral foot positioning using warm baths followed by simple PT, he no longer wants "Mom" to do this stuff to him. As a result, he is experiencing atrophy in his achilles tendon, his leg muscles: and to stand with his feet in neutral position now, has to bend his knees almost to a 45* angle outward- think of a Russian Folkdancer. Am deeply concerned about the atrophy becoming permanent, along with the obvious long term effects to his whole body: not the least of which, of course, is his supportive musculature.

He's autistic, *and* he's a young man in adolescence. One certainly does not cancel the other out. <G> In the couple of years I have been disallowed my normal methods of keeping him limber, I have been hoping for some good help, perhaps a Physical Therapist who could take the spirit and time to work with Caden well. None has been found as of yet.

I have no compunction about simply trying QT specifically for the effects it will have on his feet, legs, and the rest of his supportive system. Here is where my dilemna comes in.

I have seen some real change when using Quantum Touch. I mean, just with trying the basic things in the book, and only in trying them out to practice. This tells me there is much more potential that may come into play here. Oh, this is hard to speak to, please bear with me!

I am concerned about the whole of the energy. I have seen unexpectedly wonderful results. I am nervous about my ability to handle it if Caden is helped further than I can "change" for.

Whatever good comes from the use of Quantum Touch, I want the... followup? Support? Post-relationship?... to be a continuation of the healing, and am afraid I may not be able to supply what he might need.

I feel a bit like an empty nester with a hey-nonny. and here I thought I'd like having an empty nest I could twit from now and then!

any ideas, suggestions, insights, or other input will be appreciated. I have his whole life's worth of built relationship to be ready to modify, change, perhaps grow up to. I want to be a good part of his life, not one that hinders or hurts him.

I do hope I haven't dumped too much at one tme here, especially 15 minutes after joining this forum. Thank you. deb

Hi Deb,
Welcome to the wonderful world of QT. Think of your QT work with Caden as an exercise in evolution and growth for both of you. His body will take what it needs and use it as it sees fit. If you are concerned about how you might handle changes, try running QT to the both of you (in relationship to each other) via distance. Trust in the ultimate wisdom that our physical/and non-physical selves possess.

Hello Deb, Dont worry about outcomes. If u have read message board thoroughly then u have read a lot of times that Q.T is a healing energy. it has no negativity at all, nothing wrong attached with it.

Send energy to your son with love of a mother n see how miracolously it will work for your son. If feel some hesitation with hands on healing then just do as Cassandra told u ,, start with a distance healing session n keep on with watching the wonderful effects of healing.
