Hi. I took a QT workshop 2 weeks ago and have been practicing every chance I get. I'm a massage therapist so I am trying to incorporate QT in my sessions as much as possible. At times it's like trying to walk, chew gum, whistle, juggle, and breathe at the same time. Anyway, I find that as soon as I start the breathing I can't stop yawning. Has anyone else experienced this? It's annoying and I don't know if it's because I'm not used to taking in so much oxygen and if I'll grow out of it. I feel like I need to take an energy drink before I start. I would think I would be energized instead of yawning.

Thanks.

Yawning is quite common when people start to relax, and it will probably diminish with time. Alot of stress is stored in the jaw area.

I had one woman take a video workshop who told me she always yawned when she experienced any energy work at all.

It took me about 3 weeks to get the breathing and sweeping and focus all together. Well worth it! Keep going and when it gets impossible - just relax and stop trying! It's pretty natural in the end.
best wishes, Jane

yawning is a natural respomse to letting go. I am an EFT fan and whenever I start tapping I immediately start yawning. It goes off after a while.

David,
I yawn once in awhile, was also wondering if it was after doing fire breathing. I tend to do long fire breathes. Maybe slow down a little on fire brathe? Just a thought. It all does get easier and more natural the more we practice. Keep on going Smiler
Malcom,
Do you combine EFT with QT or do them separately? I'm just beginning to learn EFT. Do you work on yourself or with other people?

That's interesting, I can't remember yawning before, but now I can't stop, it's really triggered something. thanks, I think.

Hello David-

I yawn when I work and it's great!!!
Yawning is often a sign of endorphin release...

Sometimes I think our fascia tissue (the physical network thru which emotional chemicals travel)pick up on the endorphins that are released when there is a muscle releases from spasm to function-

A muscle that has been in spasm for a long time often will trigger an endorphin release in the being you are working on-

I think of yawns as an indication that everything is going just right-

I agree with Jani in that it is a relaxation response-

Many Blessings

Pnygal, it is so nice to see you back on the message board. It's probably just a coincidence, LOL, but I was re-reading your book last night. At any rate, nice to see you!

Blessings ...
