I am pretty new to the chakra deal. Can someone please explain something to me . . .

In the book, its is metioned that chakra 8 "Symbolizes probable realities and the astral plane . . . "

What in the world does that mean ? Please explain it to a meat-and-potatoes-dumb-guy-from-brooklyn . . . .

Good question. Don't have an answer for you, but your question made me aware of how much I take for granted things that I don't really understand. I know the 8th chakra is there, I've felt it etc. Just never attempted to wrap my mind around its use and meaning. I hope you get some great responses, because i'd like to know too.

I had to laugh when I read your post. Like Cassandra, I realized how much I assume I understand just because I hear the terms all the time - these terms really are pretty mumbo jumbo-ish. (Not that I don't realize there is meat & potatoes [or should I say fresh raw food?] behind them - but they could use a wee bit more explanation, not only in a more general sense, but exactly how the 8th chakra relates to these concepts....)

The chakra system is very interesting...each one is connected to physical parts of our bodies along with the emotional. On a normal chakra system chart the top chakra (7th) is located on top of the head. It is our spiritual connection. Carol Myss PH.D has a good book out about the chakra system called "Anatomy of the Spirit". She says that the 7th chakra is the entry point for the human life-force and influences the major body system, the central nervous system, the muscular system and the skin. It offers you inner guidance, insight into healing and a connection to the divine.
As far as the 8th chakra is concerned, there are folks who feel that we humans are developing more chakra's as we evolve. I guess that 8th one is going to be way out there!

Don't worry about it's exact meaning or the intrepretion of others. We all perceive through our unique lens and all that is tempered by our belief system. That said, there are some universal reponses that people have when they reach into or experience these chakras spaces so, often that is how the "reasons they are experienced as they are" get set up.

Allow yourself to meditate on them. Note what comes to mind. If you've taken the SC class you know how to get inside them or you may well have had other teachings that show this as well. Regardless, go inside them and note your personal experiences. Relax and enjoy, it can be quite amazing. It may take a number of experiences before you have clarity, that is the nature or meditation and learning.

I agree with Alain, what the 8th chakra exactly is is pretty much open to our own experience of it. I think though that your question was more related to what is the Astral Plane and what are probable realities. Let's start with the Astral Plane. It is said that the Astral Plane is the level of existance just above the physical plane that we are currently inhabiting and experiencing. One of the interesting aspects of the Astral plane is that each soul once it leaves the body must pass through it. Some stay there for a while for a variety of reasons. This plane can also be visited by humans who are still alive and that is often referred to as Astral Travel. There of plenty of books written on that subject.

Now the next concept is probable realities and there is no way that I know of to explain this in terms of meat and potatos. So that said let me start with the concept of thoughts as things. When you have a thought it actually takes on an existance of its own. That existance is not yet physical until you act on it. Nonetheless, thoughts are things and combine with other thoughts that result in probable realities within mutliple dimensions. The reality that you experience is one of these. If you want a really good discussion of probable realities I refer you to the Seth Material written by Jane Roberts. Have fun with it!!!

Hi All, Just wanted to throw my 2 cents worth in. During the 2 live basic QT classes Ive taken - we visualised the chakras and set them spinning up to - I think it was the 11th or even 12th chakra. I know quite a bit about the 7 , as Im a yoga teacher but nothing at all about the other ones - except I can tell you for sure - they exist all right....both times when I got up to the 9th one - I felt REALLY nauseous and dizzy - whoa
think I might just spin off somewhere when I ' get inside them' with Swan on the supercharging this month !!

Anyone any idea why this should happen?

The book talks about the meaning of each of the "outer" chakras, you might see if the meaning resonates in any way for you.

My experience is that Chakra 8 is very useful for our �Spiritual Equilibrium.�

Chakra 8 is located below our feet, usually �bout the size of a volley ball.
This is where we find our Spiritual balance while on our path.
Not to be confused with Grounding, this Energy Platform aids us to stay empowered and congruent with our Highest Spiritual Outcome path.

When we get challenged Spiritually�. some energy fields may attract us from our path, or show is something that seems to shake us to our Spiritual Core, or contradict our current Spiritual truths, and we may feel shaky�. or weakened � sometimes even sick or wobbly.

Chakra 8 can help us with our Spiritual footing. This Chakra is quite pliable and expandable, and movable. We can expand it a bit, right below our feet, and remind our selves that this energy field is strong enough to stand upon, and support our footing in Spiritual rough times. Sort of a �stay the course� platform in challenging, rolling times.

Being pliable and movable, we can use 8 to funnel Spiritual Wellness and Higher Intelligence. This is where we move 8 up to the Crown Chakra area and funnel in Chakras 9, 10, 11, 12,

The Super Charging Class really awakened me to the wonderful and available energy fields that accompany us on our Path.

I believe you have to get used to the energy.
Otherwise you should be OK.
Any different energy has it's own issues to deal with, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Don't forget to bring cake. It can never hurt.

Actually (I dont have my Book It's on loan but I think Richard has a pic,)
in the book about the chakras and the 8th is about 6 inches above the crown chakra, and another on above that and another above that and there is one about 6 inches below your feet.

then if you want to really go into depth there are chakras in your palms and each finger tip and at your wrist.

and the same with your feet one on the heel and one on the sole and one on each toe, then there are more at each joint, and many inbetween. but the 7 major chakras are the most important.

and you can tap into the one above the 7th by just pulling the energy from your feet and instead of just going to the top of the head and out your hands, You would go up your body to the top of the head and out the crown chakra and imagine going just above the 8th and back down through it back into your crown and down to the shoulders and out the hands. That is a power boost similar to the fire breath but an energy on just another leavel.

thank you - I will explore a little more and see if those higher chakras bring anything up for me. I laughed when you mentioned cake Howard - How did you know? Every workshop we dash off to a local cafe which has the MOST delicious homemade cakes ( which of course we cant resist)
