Hello everyone. I was wondering is it a common occurance when using QT to align the skeletal structure to have the client go through involunteery movements as if going through some form of release? I have worked on a persons occiput and found the persons head moving of its own accord and she was not consciously aware of the movement. Thanks for any feedback.

Happens all the time. Sometimes the movements are subtle and sometimes they can be quite extreme. It's all just a part of the healing process.

At one workshop we had a group of three women doing the hip alignment and all three of them went through a twisting motion where they almost turned around backwards. We playfully named them the "twisted sisters," which they had a lot of fun with the rest of the workshop.

Dave to see some pics of these movements check the following link. They are photographs that I took during a DVD workshop. The photos take a little while to load but then you can flick through them like a side show.

I have many clients who move when working on the occiput and the hips. There are lots of links to movements during sessions. Click on the tab "find" and write in words like "movement during sessions".

Thanks to both of you for helping to confirm this for me. I was a little worried I was doing something wrong lol. I'm glad to see that it's normal.

Hello Dave-

I believe what the person was experiencing was a fascial tissue "unwinding". I regularly have folks (and horses) have this experience. The movement will often occur as a stretching activity that allows the body part to rotate one way then the other to a greater and greater range of motion(ROM)....

Most often one side is far more restricted than the other and the process may take a few minutes to fully extend the persons ROM to both sides being equal....

I stop running energy when the body comes to a still point ie stops moving....

I intend for fascial unwindings (occurs about 7 out of 10 sessions)and have effectively used that technique and it completely healed a women who had carpal tunnel....she had had injections and was scheduled for sugery and now 3 weeks after the bodywork....still at the same job (fast food)and she reports no pain or symptoms...

I have also had great success in working with navicular horses as well....

Hope this helps-

Many Blessings-

Thanks pnygal. Your mention of facial unwinding makes great sense I've used myofacial release techniques in the past. I just didn't associate the same thing with energy work. Thanks again Smiler
