I have practiced Quantum Touch for 5 years or more and have heard, from time to time, comparisons to Reiki - I have no training in Reiki and little knowledge of it - maybe some of you folks who are trained and practice both modalities can shed some light by way of comparison... thanks... Jim T.

Hello Jim -- There are 11 previous posts on the message board about this subject. Here's how to find them.

Click on FIND at top of page, and in the little search box, enter "QT vx. Reiki." The list of posts will pop up.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jimmyt, my 10 cents...whenever I give a lecture/demo, people ask me this question. I ask them, are u a reiki practitioner ? they almost always are.
Then I tell them, at the end of the lecture, you`l know what QT is about, and then you can tell us the difference between them.
Problem is, I think they are alittle secrective about Reiki, they don`t tell us anything about the technique, in fact, they tell so little that I don`t know what Reiki is about...

Hi Jimmyt

I personally think that reiki is not as effective as basic QT. And I mean that not even a reiki master grad can get close to the energy level than basic QT. I have to admit that I haven't heard of a reiki practitioner that aligns hips and so on. Neither have I heard that they can reduce swellings as quick as basic QT.
Reki usually has got three levels/ grads in which the last two work with symbols. Lots of secrets in that department and so many different reiki lines and one claims to be better than the other.

Jimmyt,

I must say you have offered a very pointed opinion of Reiki. One that I must disagree with in some ways, yet agree with in others.

To start with, your comment that "...Reiki is not as effective as Basic QT..." I believe this is to be false. In my humble experience, it depends much on what you are trying to "effect." As both a QT Practitioner (& soon to be Instructor) and Reiki Master-Teacher, I can tell you that I use each modality for very different things.

For injuries, I can attest that Reiki WILL work. However it seems to be much slower to be effective. For any injury... I like QT.

Where I find Reiki to be better used is for relaxation or psychological (emotional) & spiritual issues.

I simply DO NOT like QT for these things. It's almost TOO strong if this makes sense.

I personally don't believe either to be superior to the other. Both energies feel VERY differently to me.

It is simply that they (in my opinion) each, have their place. Just like sometimes even the ND will refer to a MD when you need something different.

It's when one gets into this "who's is bigger" contest that we all lose.

As a practicing/teaching Reiki Master & QT P(soon to be Instructor) I would love to answer any questions you may have about either.

Peace!

Nice comparison Greg. I appreciate having a better answer for people who ask than a competitive one.

However, I've had excellent success in using QT with emotional issues. QT can be gentle or strong, whichever is needed.

I never saw it in a competitive manner purely from the perspective of effectiveness.
I'm a Reiki Master my self and have dropped Reiki completely. Don't see the point in using it.

Thanks for the comment - I don't view it as a competitive situation either, but am trying to compare the two. Most of the comments (written and spoken) that I have heard or read seem to give QT the edge as far ease of practice and effectiveness.....
