In trying to get into the chat a couple weeks ago, it appeared my Quick Time was interfering. Tech support said I should try to reinstall it. That was the only clue I had that Quick Time was the culprit. I right clicked on Quick Time displayed in my task bar displaying open programs, and unchecked anything to do with Flash. Voila, it worked. Hope this will help someone else.
