Hello,
I am wondering about the importance of having a minister's licence. Do you think it's a necessity? Have any of you had problems without one? Thanks, Jeannie |

Many peple are concerned about touch and the legalities around it. While I have the ministerial certificate, it is more out of a sense of keeping the "state" happy rather than myself. Though up to now (7 years) no one has even asked about it when I do a treatment.
It is so easy to get a ministerial certificate that there is almost no reason not to. All one needs to do is go to the universal life church site and sign in, put in a piece of paper for your printer that you want your certificate printed on and then hit print. There is not even a cost. If you feel like it you can send a donation to them. |

To my knowledge, while it is helpful to have a ministers license, the only way the state will accept that is if it's connected to a bonifide church. Having a ministers license in and of itself will not protect you when you put your hands on another person for money. In many states the massage therapy industry is responsible for this. They are currently trying to extort exclusive rights to the practice of Reiki. Can you imagine any entity trying to commandeer a devine gift? But they are. Beware, and make sure you are protected. I am a minister and affiliated with a legitimate tax exempt church. It protects me but the church will not allow people to go through the program if doing energy work is all they want it for. I am a practicing minister as well as a RN.

I am in Alberta,Canada. I have contacts who wish to use a therapeutic healing process that they "HAVE" without any formal training, but they can read your body and effect healing. Would a minister's licence help them to practice their healing without need of a massage licence? If they can proceed on this basis they will continue to become QT practitioners.
Your input will be appreciated |

Your best option to get accurate information for your Province would be to check with Certified Practitioners there, as well as seeking clarification from an attorney. Every state and Province has different regulations, some very different, so it's not possible to answer your question with any degree of certainty. There are too many variations.
Ministerial credentials are not required by Quantum Touch. It's entirely optional and up to the discretion of the practitioner. Good luck on your quest, and please, let us know what you find out. Here in Oregon some practitioners doing energy work get the minister's license so they will be allowed into the hospital room to work on their client if they become a patient in the hospital.

Each state is different; you need to request the laws and rules which would pertain, in your state. In Florida, it's the rules for the Board of Massage. You really have to be careful and check all different board rules, in case one of them has something in there that would pertain to what you're doing. I know a good bit about the regulating of the states, and the way people will report people. You also have to be very careful what words you use, as they can have statutory definitions and can be protected by certain boards (professions). This has just reminded me that though I knew what was going on at the time, I did not investigate the NEW laws and rules that may be going into effect, and which could change things. You really have to keep on top of all of it. If you are regulated by a certain professional board, you pretty much just need to keep up with your profession. But in one like this, you need to watch other professions as well.
You also need to read the laws and rules for ministers in your state. I got mine from Universal Ministries, and they are connected to a church. From what I've read that is one of the requirements. There may be other boards that would regulate this in other states. I read the rules for all the boards here, and also contacted someone from a board office to ask about it. As of now, there are no statutes for energy healing work in Florida, but I believe it has been discussed, and it's something that will probably be coming. Universal ministries had done the research on finding the laws regulating the ministers and performing of marriages in the different states. Some of the places you have to pay to renew (like a license) every year. |

Here's the one I have.
http://universalministries.com/doctrine.html I would always contact them before sending any money, just to make sure they're still there. This one has an actual church, and there are pictures of the church on the website. I shopped around for days before I decided on this one. I was looking at all kinds of different criteria. The last time I received anything from them was about a year ago. I decided I would probably order a letter of good standing ($10) about once a year, just in case there were ever any questions or anything. I like this one because of the legal information they have available. Good luck with whoever you choose! |
