I have a question for those of you who dowse. yesterday, I and another instructor were demonstrating to our massage students the presence of energy, by using dowsing rods...2 bent rods made from coat hangers, set in straws. Everyone took turns bringing them into another person's energy field. For some, the rods crossed, for others the rods pushed apart, and for a few nothing happened. When I was the subject, I ran some energy and the rods pushed apart. When I was the one holding the rods, they came together. I'm wondering what this all means, and if the movement of the rods has more to do with the holder or the subject? It was an interesting exercise, and I'd like to bring more insight to it for our students.

well i am not sure on the rods .but on pendulums as i know it the energy comes from the area nudged by intent you can get yes no awsers .aslo you can use them to clear a room of neg energy and fill the room with positive.
also you may use them to find certain things as i am going to try it out nov.26th looking for some millerite in southern In.

possable explination on the rods can be like 2 magnates of positive flow will push away from each other same as 2 neg flow? so if your energy field is pos. and the person advancing on you is pos, then they will part lets sey and on u bending the rods in on your turn maybe as you know how to run energy you push alot of it thru and its like a hose with alot of water pressur with to much torque?

Great advice, Don! Letter to Robin is as good a primer on dowsing as you will find.

A couple of points I've found important for dowsing: be clear and specific about your intent. Whatever the dowsing tool, the real dowsing instrument is your mind-body-energy field: the rods or pendulum are merely extensions of this which provide a calibrated reading you and others can see. For instance, if you lead with a statement of intent such as "I want to dowse the energy of the auras of the people in this room" you won't get reliable results, because it isn't a specific enough statement. Who's aura at this moment are you dowsing?

Also, if you don't program your dowsing instruments before you start, you will usually get mixed results with crossing and opening of L-rods, or CW/CCW or horizontal/vertical swings of your pendulum. Programming is simply "telling" the rods (you're really telling yourself) precisely how you want them to work.

"Letter to Robin" will tell you exactly how to do all of this stuff. It's a lot of fun, and very useful! I dowse for lots of reasons, but for healing, I've integrated Joey Korn's system into my own for energy assessment, diagnosis, and prayer to correct problems.

Thankyou Don & Alfred for your information. I can understand how we got inconsistent results. One interesting thing that did happen is that the rods moved when we asked the person being dowsed to shift their thoughts...making the point that energy follows thought.

I'm not sure what it means but I'd love to find out more myself! I've been experementing with and woundered if any eles had also.

Clarity of intention is the key feature, I find, when dowsing. Make your question or statement clear.

Also, remain consistent in the manner of asking (if you're working on yes/no, good/unhelpful then stick to that sort of question).

Charging your tool with clear intention concerning the way you'll work with it and the sort of query you'll pose is also helpful.
