Hello Everyone,
One of the questions discussed in Jody's (excellent) interview on 20th concerned sceptics. I have found the following makes them think - 99% of matter is empty space (scientific fact) - A Telegraph article on the CERN experiment (Sept 08) explains that if an atom were the size of the Albert Hall (a very large building for those outside the UK!) it would consist of a nucleus the size of a pea and electromagnetic particles like dust motes whizzing round it, giving the impression of an Albert Hall-size mass. This makes it easier (at least for me) to understand how apparently solid structure can change.
The old analogy of the caterpillar becoming a butterfly is also something people seem to relate to.
But I'm learning (with difficulty!) not to mind if someone doesn't want QT, even if that person has benefited before (I'm not talking about paying clients here). As in the work itself, offering is the important part and if it's not accepted it's not my story.

Welcome to the fambly Pat!
And how wise you are.

I'm still learning this one.
And I'm still learning: What you think of me is none of my business.
And: It's all about me. Big Grin

Any way, what I haven't figured out is how

I mean, I love the size comparison, but how does knowing that help explain QT?
Thanks for this topic. These are the kinds that we all benefit from exploring and sharing.

Thank you for your replies Alice and Christina.
In answer to your question Christina, it's just that I find it easier to believe that the body can re-organize itself when it's dealing with minute whizzy things in a huge amount of space that with the solid mass, such as bone, which we perceive.
It seems to help other people to know that things are not as "set in stone" as they appear, but maybe they're only being polite!

Hi guys, great post!

I used to take it personally when I'd offer help and get no takers. Then my wise and wonderful, funny brother (an AA guy to the max) told me that he dives right in to help people stop drinking, takes them under the wing, makes himself available 24/7, but he lets them know that he can only do so much, the rest is on them. "What they do when I'm not around is their business," he says, "but as for me, I'll be home eating pizza!"

LOL! I can't tell you how many times I've quoted him and how nice it feels to let it all go and just enjoy being home eating pizza....
