This might seem like a weird question, but does anyone know who actually makes the Qlink pendants? More specifically, I'd like to know if it's patented and, if so, who holds the patent.

I've looked at the US Patent Office site and I see no patents for it under Clarus, Pure Energies, or Qlink.

Any thoughts?

Perhaps you could contact them directly and ask them? Or do companies not like to give that info for some reason?

As far as I know Clarus developed and manufactures the pendants...being a large silicon valley type electronics firm....I would think they hold all patents etc....

I'll tell you why I'm interested. I am intriguied by the claims made by Clarus but I'd like to know more about the device before I plop down a significant amount of hard-earned cash for one.

My initial impression is that it is snake oil, and my BS meter is nearly maxed out. ;-) However, I'm encouraged by the endorsement of Ken Wilber and William Tiller.

My concern is that the developers never really state how and why this device works. I have a worry that we're being scammed and that any improvements are due to the (powerful) placebo effect.

This is why I was looking for a patent. If it is patented then the details of the inner workings of the device will be available. It would be a red flag for me if it wasn't patented. If it isn't patented when it obviously should be then that probably means that it isn't patentable because the claims cannot be verified.

I've read some of the research papers on the Qlink website but they are unconvincing. I was especially interested in the paper by William Tiller but Clarus only provides a summary of the conclusions, not the actual research.

If this pendant really works then I'm definitely interested in buying one, but this has all the classic signs of snake oil and I don't want to be an example of the statement "a fool and his money are soon parted." ;-)

Any thoughts?

I was just doing some research and seemed to remember that Dannion Brinkley endorsed Qlink, as well. However, I just saw that the pendant he endorses is called the BioElectric Shield. Similar concept to the Qlink. It also has a snake oil feel to it. I'm having difficulty determining if I should trust Dannion Brinkley or not. His story is absolutely amazing. I guess I could pay him $250 for a 30-minute phone reading and find out, huh? :-)

I've read several of the papers on the website, and I did read the money-back guarantee. I need to re-read it to make sure the device can be returned for any reason whatsoever, no questions asked. Some companies place additional restrictions on returns that aren't clear until after you've purchased their product.

What I need is for someone who has one to loan it to me for a few weeks. LOL But, alas, I don't know anyone who has one.

I also looked in the US and International databases with no hits.However,I'm less interested in the patent than I am in whether the product actually works.

Unfortunately, when you're talking about the kind of subtle energies involved in "life force," there really is no direct scientific evidence that they exist (or that such a thing as "life force" does either). If there is no accepted means of directly measuring life force
(there isn't), then you won't get a patent on the technology. There are several research studies cited on the clarus web site, but I couldn't tell at a glance whether any of them they are peer-reviewed.

If you subjectively sense energy, and can distinguish various qualities of energy, you might notice that the sensations associated with wearing qlink are qualitatively different from those associated with, say, a positive energy plate (Ralph Bergstresser's subtle energy antenna, aka "purple plate" or "positive energy plate.")



I'm subjectively aware of a regulation in my energy and a definite sensation in my body when I'm wearing the qlink. I can't say the sensation is wonderful. It's not bad either; just distinct, like a mild current.

I can't imagine Ken Wilbur, William Tiller and Norm Shealy either ALL being taken in by the same scam or ALL being in on it.

I'm curious whether you feel the energy of QT (either as the active or receptive partner in healing), and if you don't, what is keeping you going?

It might please you to know that I've returned two qlinks within the 90-day period and gotten the full refund minus postage. And my sense was that they worked just fine: I just didn't want to pay so much.

If you can't afford the $129 price tag or find it too excessive, there are discount distributors on ebay.

Thanks, pnygal, but I was more interested in *how* the pendant worked. I am interested in people's reaction to using the pendant, of course, but I'm very curious about how it actually works. I definitely want to know more about something that costs that much money, especially when it's making some fairly radical claims.

I bought a Qlink pendant and wore it a while. I noticed nothing, but then I do not notice subtle energy effects easily.

I no longer wear it because I have been thinking it may encourage my body to stop developing its own defenses against EMFs etc. I have not noticed any ill effects from sitting in front of a computer for long periods, living very near two cell phone towers, and having the usual electrical devices in my house - fluorescent lights etc. So at present it hangs on my bedroom door unused. I haven't even checked about the refund, maybe I will.

EMFs are not like a virus. It's more in the nature of a poison - the body is not going to develop defenses against EMFs any more than it's going to develop defenses against daily doses of a poison. Most people don't feel noticeable ill effects of things like cell phones, etc., until "suddenly" and "out of the blue" they end up with cancer. That's why statistical studies are used to figure out that there's a problem, because most people aren't going to notice anything until their bodies have become completely overloaded.

As for the Q-Link itself - from reading the posts, it sounds like some people have dramatic experiences, and some have mild ones or don't feel anything, like you did. I think the best idea, John, would be trying it out for the 90 days to see how it feels to you. In one posts, someone who had dramatic experiences said her friends didn't and all returned theirs. She didn't report them having any trouble returning them.

The Q-Link is an amplifier of electro-magnetic fields...the idea of how it works is that it amplifies the electro-magnetic field of the heart, enabling our bodies own field to repel emf fields that normally are stronger than our own. Q-Links are made of copper windings...like the same as in a speaker "voice coil", that are used to pick up vibration and amplify the vibration...(Got this info from husband who is a musician......
