hello! i'm thinking of having a QT lecture / demonstration just for dancers (given by my QT instructor).

would really appreciate suggestions on how to do this lecture in an engaging way for dancers (they love to move!), and also... if you have, to share any great dancer QT healing stories.

thanks in advance for all the help i'll be getting! Big Grin

I would be inclined to present the lecture in the same way that Richard does (in the CD you received as a practitioner). Then you may add to it how conscious sweeping/breathing will have a profound effect on the dancers' stamina and resistance to injury.

Please note that actual breathing techniques must not be taught as part of a lecture or demonstration. We can make general references to what QT is in a lecture, but we must avoid teaching any of the content.

Have fun. I think the idea of presenting the physical benefits to performers and athletes is an excellent idea.

I know dancers are always dealing with aches and pains and strains - I think it would be good to pick someone with restricted movement and then do some QT on them. That would be a visible demonstration of the benefits!

Hi Trane and Jani, thx for your creative input! I was so excited at the idea that I couldn't sleep last night, ha.

anyway, we've decided to change it to giving free healing sessions (max. 30 min per dancer) @ a dance studio. It'll be a pure practice session, so we won't have to worry about crossing the line on QT details, like what Trane mentioned, plus I'd really want all dancers who join this event to be worked on, especially since this would be the very first 'project' on targeting specific group of 'clients'.

We'll gather QT volunteers (who need to log in healing hours) to do QT on dancers who are curious enough to try. We'll set up a counter at the door, so that if the dancer get impressed by the results of the session, and want to get more of this QT miracle stuff, they can just pick up a QT brochure, buy the QT book, and / or sign up for 'live' or video workshop straight away. I'll invite more dancers with spine conditions eg. slipped disc, so their obvious improvements will inspire more dancers to try out QT, like what Jani suggested.

my dance instructor, who co-owns a dance studio, has been really supportive, and suggested that we come up with a formal proposal on how to market this, so we can put it up on his dance studio website.

we hope to be able to organize one next weekend. will update you guys once it's over! Big Grin

Bingz,
I do something like this at Native American Indian Dances. The lil fancy dancers get into heaps of things so that everything hurts.

I line them up from largest to smallest, then I do the first one, the largest one. That lil dancer passes the ball of energy to the next, placing it on each owie for the lil kid next to him.In this manner, ankles unkink, knees unscab, elbows heal and best of all, it straightens out broken regalia! Mom doesn't catch up, and no one gets smacked. Since I am working with kids who have mostly seen this before, I have no need to pass out info, the kids tell the parents and all begin to line up.
The Teepee in the middle of the dance area at times has a line to the door, carefully sized by the people coming in.I do it by size as the smallest at times will get the least dose as it goes around. When that happens, the next kid in the line before the smallest is responsible for learning and applying the "Tawa Rays" (QT to you and I) to the smallest, who has amped up like mad and passes it back to the largest. Then everyone goes out to do it again.
This is not proper, by the book, but it does work, and makes each kid responsible for every other kid or grownup in the group. Far less injuries, no shoving, etc. If someone hurts another intentionally, the kids know it, and will not work on the bully, then will warn me, thus policing themselves. The parents are really nice and are very grate full for the help.
I have gotten many clients from this practice of giving just a taste of QT and letting them ponder it through.
Lots of god work and healing,
zeneagle

hiya fambly!

have just completed my free healing event this morning. hmmm. a couple of hiccups and I panicked like hell. studio was opened 15 min later than the alloted timing; one of the therapists was upset about it and disappeared; some 'clients' were unable to come or were late...

but wonderful things happened as well. 'clients' felt really relaxed though they're not so convinced it's due to the energy yet hee; therapists were very understanding of the delay and enjoyed having extra QT practice and befriending fellow QT-ers they've not met b4; and I'm happy that I got to introduce this wonderful modality to my friends.

forgot to take pics so can't share with u all. I'll be collecting feedback from both therapists and 'clients' so we'll have better sessions in future Big Grin
