I still have very little experience with QT but I was doing a little research on hypnosis and found a nice site at wayneperkins.net where he has a free online ebook that details how you can hypnotize yourself to instill better habits and so forth. It sounds very promising and he suggests different scripts for different dilemmas. Of course there is one for healing and I thought (or I was blessed with the thought) Hey, since you don't talk too much during QT anyway, maybe you could make your own soothing hypnosis tape with some background music to invite the client/healer to really become involved by meditating on their healing.

I was thinking of a young woman who I really want to help. She lives in the States and I am in Holland and I really want to help heal her emotional problems of former abuse as a child. When I thought about mailing her my own homemade tape that she could listen to while I tried to run energy from here, I got so excited and thought it was a brilliant idea. Has anyone tried this? I know in my QT class, there was a man that worked with NLP and now I see there could be a really useful relationship between the two. Maybe just a better way to help the client feel that they are taking a more active role in the process.

I would just advise caution when dealing with your friend. One, check that she wants to deal with the abuse. You can't make her better, the desire to heal must come from her. She may have strategies that she is using to deal with it. They may not be very effective, but they may be getting her through. By all means offer the hypnosis and QT, but accept she might not want to face those demons.

Second, speak to her and find out what outcome she wants and go for that. Don't push your own agenda on her and decide what is the right outcome. It might be too much too soon for her. Keep her involved in decisions about the healing and make sure she always has the final say. I would suggest that it would be best if the tape was fairly general rather than specifically about her problems.

The hardest thing when dealing with people is accepting that some people don't want to be helped / healed.

I do think it sounds like a lovely idea, so create a lovely relaxing, confidence boosting hypnosis tape as I'm sure someone will want to try it. You might want to try it out on someone closer to home first just to see how it works before trying it over a distance.

I don't mean to put a downer on your idea, I do really like it. I just want to advise caution when you are dealing with potentially huge emotional issues.

Thanks for the response. I would definitely talk to her about this before attempting (She is in a juvenile detention center soon to be released and ready to self-destruct at the ripe age of 18) Her behavior is pretty bad except when she is around me. I love her and haven't been in her life for 5 years now. I know the beautiful soul that resides inside her even if she doesn't often let others see it. She is so smart, and sensitive and beautiful. I hope to talk openly and frankly with her about this when she is released next month. They put state shrinks on her that label her with all sorts of diagnoses which I think makes matters worse.

Just a quick story--when I first met her about 7 years ago (she is my adopted sister. my mother adopted her to get her out of her bad environment.)she told me that her brain didn't work properly and my mother was ready to give her drugs. I begged my mother not to do that which she didn't, thank God. Well, anyway I told her that it was BS that her brain didn't work properly. I had only known her for a month or so but I could see she was sharp. I told her that and that week in school (she was a horrible student) she scored the highest score on her math and science test out of all the students. See what a little suggestion did for her. She is surrounded by people labeling her with bad names and it makes me sad. Anyway, maybe with a very general self-healing tape and some QT, she can begin her journey to her true self. Being a former psych nurse and having a soft spot for those who have endured abuse...I have
found that these individuals r some of the most
caring sensitive compassionate individuals around...they do tend to disconnect with self
which is to be expected...as I read this thread
a thought came to me to use the method mentioned by Richard in the book of thinking of the person as a babe...putting her between ur hands and running energy that way...Good Luck to U and to her!!!
