Hi,
I have a question about doing quantum touch on yourself. Is there a lot of difference in running the energy through your hands on the spot you want to work on, and just running your energy straight to that spot, without using your hands as a medium? (any difference in effectivity?) |

I don't know, because I do to myself "distant" only when I can't do it "hands on". But I think there is no differnce beyween the two methods.
My students on the basic worksop like it better to work at distance, they say they have a better concentration, and the ones that are playing the role of client say that there is no difference between hands on and distance. So maybe with us, to ourselves, is the same. Wilson |

Maybe I wasn't very clear in formulating my question. I'm not really talking about distant healing here. I mean the difference between
1) Hands on the spot 2) Instead of sending the energy through your hands, you send the energy straight to the spot in your body that you want to work on. For example if there's something wrong in your knee, you make sweeps that direct all the energy to your knee instead of your hands. |

You always send the energy to your hands, and then you create a "field" between your hands. That is where you direct the energy to go, to whatever is in that field. If hands are sandwiching a knee, that knee will be in the energetic field.
Sometimes it is easier to use distant healing on ones' self, for several reasons. Sometimes you can't place your hands where it hurts, to create the field. Very hard to do your own spine, for one thing. So one way to deal with that is to imagine yourself small, and in your mind's eye, you place that small "you" into the energetic field between your hands, & send distant healing. Another way is to use a surrogate for "you." It could be a Teddy Bear, a photograph, (driver's license is an example) or a card bearing your ID information. I know, it sounds weird, but it works. Place the surrogate in your hands, create your field, and do distant on it. Distant technique is also good if you want to run energy on your whole body---where do you place your hands? Using this technique, it's not a problem. Another reason to do distant on yourself is that it is a slightly different vibration from hands-on. Also you may want to use the Amplified Resonance technique from the Basic QT course, which is a combination of hands-on and distant, simultaneously. If you don't know this technique, refer to the book. But you always direct your attention to your hands. The field BETWEEN your hands is the focus for energy. It is a small distinction that is different from directing energy to the knee instead of the hands. The sensations in your hands is your primary feedback. We monitor the patterns of energy felt in the hands, which is the one thing I ask my students to memorize from the book! Pay attention to the hands, and the field between them will follow naturally. I have been in bed many times, and gotten a muscle cramp in my leg or foot. Instead of getting up and running energy, and I lay as I am and run the energy into my head and crown chakra, and then back down through my body to the area that is spasming. Everytime I have tried that it has worked really well, and actually just as well as the other times I tried it by sitting up and running the energy right to the muscle with my hands. Muscle cramps are actually a really good thing to try, as you know your results immediately! I need to take a good amount of calcium/magnesium daily to keep from getting them, so if I ever forget them a couple days or run out, I usually need to run the energy.
It was amazing to me the first time it worked, because I've had them (leg/foot/toe cramps) my whole life, and have always had to jump out of bed immediately and walk them off to get rid of them. The self QT has worked really well for these cramps now when I get them. |

Tweasel Oak,
I have also run energy in the way you described, up to the crown and back down through the body. While it is a very effective way to run energy, I wouldn't call it QT, because I'm not building a field of energy between my hands. Just a little point of clarification for anyone wondering about the difference. I will have yet to try your technique on leg cramps. I wouldn't agree that it isn't QT without building the field between your hands. While we teach that in our workshops, the focus in, say, distant healing when we "make the person small and put them between your hands" is simply to give people an easy way to visualize a particular process. It's not the only way to do distant healing. tweasel oak is simply modifying the sweep in a variation on distant healing that places awareness into the afflicted area.
We're encouraged in QT to explore the possibilities and make QT uniquely our own. There are many ways to run energy. The body-awareness techniques, sweeping and breathing are what comprise Quantum-Touch. We can (and should) build upon that framework. trane -- // Trane Francks <trane@living-intentionally.com> // Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. |

I always remembered the focus given to ''energy follows thought.'' So I figured wherever I swept and directed it, the energy would go. (I have actually run the energy out of one foot before, onto the other one!) (Did it when I was in bed in the winter and my feet got cold; it warmed them up pretty well!) I've also heard that it's good to run the energy over the chakras, which of course it does do when you sweep it up into your head.
Since I don't feel the energy when I sweep (or any other time, except for the heat generated a good bit of the time), I really visualize it, so I think that's why I concentrate so much on the energy follows thought concept. |

Does sweeping and visualizing energy flow mean the same thing in remote self-healing? I will try visualizing energy flowing up the legs upto the crown and down the spine to 'energize' the back and stop the occasional shivering/pain I experience. Any other insights?
