When dealing with pain of various kinds, I often encounter a situation where the person feels worse after the first session, and after the second, has a dramatic lifting. When things start moving again, it can be like numbness - once the numb aspect comes back to life, it hurts at first, then is fine.

I have experienced a continuation of pain of pain or illness immediatly after the treatment. It is not uncommon but healing usually occurs from hours to the next day after treatment.keep going. Smiler

Symptoms intensifying before improving isn't uncommon. If the person receiving the energy doesn't allow further work when symptoms intensify, the situation can leave them in a temporarily "worse" condition of physical pain or emotional/psychological imbalance or distress. Richard notes in the video how important it is to try to get the person to "hang in there" to allow the physical or emotional pain to come and go, but it's unlikely 100% of these people will follow through with that encouragement, even if you let them know of this possibility before you start. In my mind, though, this is part of the healing process for such conditions if allowed to unfold; not a worsening of them.

In cases where painful thoughts or emotions have been repressed or surpressed, healing energy can sometimes uncover the trauma, and it can take some time before the energy actually heals the emotional pain. Some people don't want to deal with this ("that's not what I came here for!") and don't want to continue.

I've never experienced (or known anyone who's experienced), though, an illness, disease or injury getting progressively worse from healing energy.

The scenario I describe in the "schizophrenia" string doesn't make the illness of schizphrenia, bipolar or schizoaffective disorder progress/worsen; it can increases the likelihood of triggering a negative reaction by increasing imbalances in the energy system of the mentally ill person instead of stabilizing and grounding their energy and physical systems).

Also, people wanting to go off their meds because they feel "all better", but aren't yet, is a common issue, so an open-minded treating physician (if you can find one) should be clued in to the fact energy healing is going on.

I read a story once of a cancer patient who went the energy healing route in addition to her conventional treatment. It ended with her being in the center of a healing circle with well-known and internationally reknowned shamans and healers. Everyone felt the power of that healing session. She went in for a scan a little while later, and the cancer had metastacized all throughout her body, and she died shortly thereafter. I think this was either in one of Stephen Levine's books or "Healing Words" by Larry Dossey. So what got healed??

In another anecdote in one of Levine's books (I think this one was "Who Dies?"), he tells of a woman with a chronic or life-threatening illnesswho went to a great healer, and the healer worked wonders, and she was healed very quickly. She became very depressed, because in her mind "If he can heal me this easily, why couldn't I do it myself? I must be weak and pitiful." And she committed suicide.

I don't know personally whether either of these stories are true, but they do point out a couple of important points:

1. Whether, how, when and how much healing takes place isn't 100% under our control (nor under the control of the person in need): we just run the energy in the most appropriate way we can think or learn of or intuit, keep an open mind and positive intention, and trust in the body's ability to heal itself, given the extra energy.

2. Emphasizing the body's intelligence and the fact that it heals itself when supplied with extra healing energy (and that we all need and can provide it to each other) is very empowering to all people, and maintains their dignity. This perspective puts the energy worker and the recipient on equal standing in the healing relationship. According to Lazarus(a so-called "channeled entity"), "A healer is someone who was sick and got well. A great healer is someone who was very sick and got well quickly." I'm not sure who/what Lazarus really is, but I like a lot of what he says.

Can you smell that, Kweden? Razzer

Blessings,
Alfred
