Does anyone have any insights about Pelvic Istability?

My daughter has it she is 7 months pregnant.

A thing I do not understand is why pelvic instability is so much more occurring now a days compared to when I was pregnant 40 years ago, I never even had heard of it. It might have to do with working during pregnancy and the stress involved, food maybe, electro smog? I do not know.

The only thing I know is what Elies (my daughter) told me, it has to do with hormones but than the question still remains why now more than before and what to do?

Much Love
Pinky

I suspect the problem is the hormones that are in meat, milk, and dairy products these days. That and the chemicals in everything we eat.

Christina's right -- more energy. Smiler

It might as well has been the same but it may have been unnoticed or ignored at that time.

That was a thought that popped in my head too, that is has always been there, but women would just "grin and bear it", versus looking into it more, or questioning it. Though the hormones and stuff in food wouldn't surprise me either.

I didn't really have too much trouble with pelvic pain, with my 2 pregnancies, but after my second child was born, I had hip troubles for months. Now, things are fine.

Hopefully, Pinky, your daughter will find a way to cope with things, until the baby is born.

((((((Elies))))))

Love and Hugs,
Jen

It is my understanding that as a pregnancy continues the hormonal changes cause the ligaments in the pelvis to loosen. This is because at birth the pubic bone must open to allow for the birthing process. If that area opens then the SI joints need to flex as well and the whole area needs to have added flexibility to achieve this. I am sure there are much more knowledgeable explanations for this process, but that was how it was explained to me many years ago.

I remember one woman I knew, as her pregnancy progressed her hips loosened to the point that if she sat on the floor there was too much instability to allow her to get off the floor. This was back in 1978. One can certainly argue that the hormones and the like in food were an issue then but I tend to agree with Jen that things are simply more out in the open know then years ago.

I am quite overweight and sedentary. Prior to my 1st pregnancy, I had a back problem which was kind-of healed. I endured ligament pains during the entire pregnancy. I felt like my hips were being pulled apart. It was hard to walk.

About 4-5 months after the birth I got the back issue resolved by being adjusted by a chiropractor 2x/week for about 2 months.

Before the next pregnancy I did a lot of exercise and weight lifting which strengthened the core muscles. During the 2nd & 3rd pregnancies I got adjusted very regularly (sometimes 1x/week). I had no ligament pain or back issues during those pregnancies.

It is quite possible that the first pregnancy did most of the work in opening the pelvis. I delivered via c-section all 3 times (not my choice).

I hope that helps. BTW, if there is an issue with breech presentation, the Webster technique can cause the baby to turn head down before the delivery. I my chiro told me he could help with that, but I never needed it.

Hi all,
Pinky, just a thought: although now equipement is more sensitive and more easily detect changes in human organisms, the default values changed accordingly, so now people who some years ago would have been considered healthy, now are adviced to take treatments and medications. Also, default parameters are set up measuring young healthy people who are active in sports. In comparison to that almost everyone is considered not to be healthy.
In fact in medical terms, noone will ever tell you that you are healthy, just that someone is without disease.

With Love,
Jelena

Thank you Crissie, Cris, Nicky, Jen, Alain, Radiantlux, Jelena Smiler Smiler for your very helpful answers they gave me more understanding of this condition.

Its probably true that as you said,"women would just "grin and bear it", versus looking into it more, or questioning it.
And as was mentioned also the more sensitive equipment more easily detect changes in human organisms.

Its probably a combination of ALL things, Hormones, stress, food, chemicals etc.

The explanation of what happens during pregnancy Hormones etc.was very clear and helpful. I will tell her and she might find more peace in going through this process.

RADIANTLUX I 'll tell her for sure.
Before the next pregnancy I did a lot of exercise and weight lifting which strengthened the core muscles. During the 2nd & 3rd pregnancies I got adjusted very regularly (sometimes 1x/week). I had no ligament pain or back issues during those pregnancies.

So what to do?
YEH MORE ENERGY!
Always, more energy. Big Grin

Thanks
Much Love
Pinky
