Hi everyone.
I'm finding this message board very inspiring and interesting. I'm new to the message board and have been reading the posts daily.

I'm a migraine sufferer and have been since the birth of my first child who is now 17. The migraines usually follow my monthly cycle and last for about three days. Last weekend I had the worst migraine of my life. I wasn't able to function as the pain was so severe.

Since reading the book on Quantum Touch, The Power to Heal, I tried running energy into the base of my head and my forehead. I didn't feel any relieve. I tried my perscription for migraines which did not get rid of the headache in spite of taking the maximum doseage. My friend drove me to the Emergency Room and a doctor gave me a narcotic which took care of the pain for a few hours. The headache returned and I went back to the ER once again for help. This time they gave me another shot which again helped for a few more hours.

I am not a fan of pain medications and do not like the side effect of these drugs. I was besides myself in agony and would have tried anything at that point. Now that this month's episode is gone, I hope to try some of the suggestions in the posts.

Does anyone know if the energy I ran on myself could have caused more pain with my migraines? Could I have been doing something wrong?

Thanks! Karen

hi Karen,

it could be that
  • you're using too much willpower to 'will' the migraine away as you were doing QT to yourself. That happens to me sometimes when I really really want certain illnesses or pains to go away. Using too much willpower actually prevents you from going into an 'allowing' state of mind for more effective energy healing.

  • you're not relaxing enough to bring in more oxygen to your body. more air = more life force energy = more effective healing.

  • you didn't drink enough plain water after the session to facilitate better flow of the energy in your body, so a 'healing crisis' occurs.

hope all the above points can help u to analyse what could be better improved in your QT-ing. maybe you can try practising it on your friends, family etc for small stuff, like on a cut, bruise, muscle aches etc so you'll gain more confidence for your migraine if it comes again. have fun! Smiler

    Hi Karen,
I can get rid of my girlfriend's migraines everytime by first, placing my hands on the place where the pain is for one to two minutes. If the pain starts getting worse, I stop immediately. Step two is to use very relaxed hands to take out the excess energy from the aura at the place where the pain is, about twenty times. Repeat if necessary.

Hands should be relaxed and as if you are wearing oven mits. Then just pull the excess energy away from the body and flick it off the hands.

This is a very simple, effective technique if you have someone to do it for you.

    Hi Karen!
I had the same problem for years, althouhg not so severe as your case, but still: headache returning every month with the period, dizzyness, feeling sick. I tried QT but it doesn't work , I just can't concentrate when I'm in pain.
But I found something else what works for me: B2 vitamins. I take it daily and the headaches are gone or just very light and bearable.
My doctor told me it's just a food supplement and has no side effects, so you can take it for years.
I hope you find something that works for you too!

    Greetings, Rita (from Holland)

    Hi Karen,

I just bought a book last week called, Understanding the Messages of Your Body, by, Jean-Pierre Barral D.O. Sub title, How to interpret physical and emotional signals to achieve optimal health.

I believe it is a good book to find out how the different organs can affect us in ways that we would not normally think that it can. It shows how our organs can have different affects else where in the body.

How a organ can affect for instance, the elbow, there are nerves connecting the liver to the elbow. Tendonitis and tennis elbow can actually come from a liver problem. It is also connected to your shoulders via its nervous system. These are just two of the connections.

So, according to what is in the book, when your liver is not working as well as it should, all sorts of problems can surface.

In the book, Liver problems can result in either migraine headaches in one half of the face and head, or general headaches affecting the entire head. Migraines often come with other discomforts: a nausea feeling, a need to hide from light and noise. feeling worn out, etc.

That said, I feel that it might be a good idea to lay your hands on your liver and run energy into it, and see what happens.

If one would buy the book, they would be able to see how everything is connected, and with the knowledge, be able to send to the appropriate organ directly, instead of the energy having to go through more of the body, by laying your hands directly on the organ, if it is called for.

It is a very interesting book, and I think that I will keep it close for reference.

    I hope this helps.

    Namaste, Dennis

I came across this article a few days ago could be just what you need. Do a google search for authors name and "migrain" to find more

The End of Migraine and Frequent Headaches
    By Christian Goodman

Recently, I discovered a method that is so simple - yet powerful - that pretty much ANYBODY can completely avoid migraine and frequent headaches. All you need to do is practice a few, very easy exercises that tackle the biggest underlying trigger of migraine and headaches.

To get everything from the right angle, before we get into how exactly to cure migraine and headache, I want to explain what actually causes migraine. You see, both traditional medical doctors and more natural focused healers have gathered lots of useful information about what happens during migraine and headache attacks. They've also found thousands of factors that are associated and often believed to cause migraine and headaches. But the fact remains that nobody knows for sure what exactly causes this complicated condition. And there is probably no one thing anybody could point out.

For example, if you hit a healthy man in the head with a hammer, he will probably experience a headache pain. If you hit him in the right place, with the right force, he'll probably also see aura (common associator of migraine) and even stars. This is normal (not to hit someone but the headache it causes). On the other hand, another person may very well lie in bed for couple of days after drinking one cup of coffee. This is not normal, but caused by a chronic condition called migraine. However, if you give a healthy person three liters of coffee and have him drink it in ten minutes, the person will probably experience a headache. So you see this is all relevant.

And yet another example is a person who all of a sudden, for no obvious reason, experiences a screaming headache that may very well last for days before it leaves as quickly as it came. This kind of headache is called cluster headache.

These three examples may sound very unlike each other but studies have shown that what happens physically with all headache and migraine attacks is very similar. So if we can come up with a method to deal with one type of headache, most likely it will work for all types. That's what I have done with my new migraine and headache program. So what happens when you get a headache?

The most obvious things you notice (if you have high tech brain scans) that happen when a person experiences headache is that the veins and cells all around the brain swallow up. They push on the nerves around them and that's what actually causes the pain. The inflammation of the veins and cells pushing on the various parts of your brain's nerves is also the reason why you may experience auras and other common symptoms of migraine.

Different headaches are caused by different part of the brain being pressed by these veins and cells. Now, what causes this inflammation is a longer, more complex and more mystical part of the whole headache scenario. Nobody knows for sure why this happens. The medical industry has focused mostly (with very little results) on medications that reduce this inflammation and therefore relieve the pain. This obviously doesn't deal at all with the underlying cause for headaches and frankly can make things worse in the long run. I highly recommend getting off all headache and migraine medications as quickly as possible.

When I heard about studies indicating how effective oxygen treatment was for migraine and headaches my eyes jumped out. This was it! If delivering pure oxygen AFTER migraine or headaches had started was effective, how about if we could double the oxygen in the blood stream ALL THE TIME without using oxygen tanks. Could that work?

You see, it wasn't just dumb luck that got researchers to begin using oxygen. Studies have shown that after people begin to experience headaches and migraine, their brain demands and gets many times the amount of oxygen from the blood delivered to it. So why is the brain all of a sudden starving for oxygen? The fact is, it isn't starving all of a sudden. It has been starving for a long, long time and will be starved again soon if you don't do anything about it.

If you've ever tried to hold your breath under water, you know how your brain feels. At first it is easy since there is enough oxygen in the blood. Little by little you feel the pressure from not having enough oxygen. Finally it's unbearable and you have to raise your head up from the water and gasp as much air as you can. You take several deep breaths before you relax and get back to normal breathing.

The brain reacts in a very similar way to its starvation, although it happens over longer period of time and is more sneaky in a way. By not receiving enough oxygen, the brain is starved like a person who only receives minimal amount of food. The brain can not be as productive and becomes weak. It's very common that some parts of the brain are more starved than other.

Like a person who has lived on a daily diet of one slice of bread and half a drink of water knows, it doesn't take much fight to push such a person over. In the same way, your starved brain doesn't need a big trigger to push it over the limit. If it's sensitive to chocolate, coffee, stress, lack of sleep or any other type of migraine trigger, one doze can be enough to push it over the limit.

When the brain reaches the breaking point (similar to the point you experience when you dive and you get the panic feeling and need to come up for a breath), the veins and cells around the brain swallow up and produce the horrible headache pain. This pressure also completely cuts of blood delivery to some parts of the brain (that's the reason why migraine patients are in more danger to get stroke). The brain wakes up from its drained sleep and demands an overload of oxygen. This can actually put even more pressure on the system and create more pain for a short while but it's essential to literally save your life.

Your brain is literally gasping for air! As all parts of the brain receive the oxygen they need and are restored to health, the migraine and headaches wear off and your brain goes back to normal. Until the story repeats itself a few days or hours later.

End of story, right? Not quite. By now, you're probably seriously considering why your brain becomes oxygen deprived in the first place. There are several reasons for that. Let's look at what needs to happen for your brain to get enough oxygen...

Your brain uses around 40% of the oxygen delivered to your blood stream. So almost half the oxygen you breath has to be sent to the blood cells and delivered through the tiny veins going through your neck up to your brain. So for your brain to receive enough oxygen, four things must happen:

You must breath deeply to inhale enough oxygen to use
The oxygen must move from the lungs to the blood cells
The blood must be delivered through the neck up to the brain
Finally, the blood must flow throughout the whole brain
Doesn't sound like too hard of a job, does it? There are several obstacles in the way though. First of all, most of us have muscles around the breathing passages that are simply too weak or tense or used to make up for other muscles that are too weak or tense. That's the reason why over 70% of westerners experience back pains at some time in their life. Blame it on the chair we sit on, on bad working positions but the fact remains that almost 10 times more westerners have back pain than people living in Asia.
That's also the reason why you probably unconsciously use your diaphragm muscle (which main purpose is to expand the lungs and fill them with air) to help your abdominals with what should be an easy task - to keep your upper body balanced. When it should be doing it's functional job of pumping enough air into your lungs. So instead of taking a few deep breaths into the lower part of our lung - using our diaphragm fully - we take many shallow breaths into the upper parts of the lungs. This part is small and doesn't hold much air. Therefore we do not receive enough air into our body.

The second problem is that when we take shallow, quick, small breaths, that bigger part of the air left in the lungs becomes carbon dioxide instead of oxygen filled. There is very little for your blood to take from. Have you ever tried to get good stuff out of picked over fruit stands in the supermarket? Then you know what I mean. So the blood flowing through your veins becomes less oxygen filled than it should be.

The third problem may be the biggest one. You never want to get caught in a bottle neck traffic jam, do you? Well your blood cells have the same problem when they go through your neck. Especially if your neck has some tension in it or if your head is not positioned right on it. Head leaning forward has become a huge health problem. A problem very people notice or talk about because it simply is so common. I've never met a person suffering from migraine or frequent headaches who didn't have their head bending too much forward.

Because the head doesn't sit straight on the head, the muscles in and connected to the neck need to do many times the job they were designed to do. You can prove this for yourself. You would probably have no problem to hold a light bowling ball straight above your head. But if you keep the same bowling ball above your head and lean it a few inches forward it's much harder, isn't it? That's the problem your neck is faced with when your head is not positioned straight above your hips - and your jaw too because the jaw takes over part of the support task from the neck.

Stiff neck muscles do not only block the blood flow up to the brain, they also do not do their duty of supporting pumping the blood up to the head. You see, natural movements of the muscles work as a support system for the veins and heart to deliver blood to all parts of the body. If the muscles are stiff, the heart has to do all the work. You figure out the conclusions.

Finally the fourth problem your system runs into while delivering blood into your brain is that the muscles around the brain are stiff and weak and don't move enough naturally to support the delivery of blood all around the head. There is especially tension in the jaw but also in the tongue and eye muscles.

When we're up to this point, parts of the brain have been blocked for various reasons. So these parts receive only fractions of the oxygen the other parts get. All this leaves our brain starved for oxygen, which finally triggers a migraine attack. Which is actually a healthy response from the brain to fight for your life.

But enough of the problem, what's the solution? My new program has 3 important parts, focused on taking in and delivering fresh oxygen to ALL parts of the brain...

The Body Balance Exercises: balance your body so the right muscles are used for the right tasks. This frees the muscles that support your breathing system as well as the neck muscles. You'll immediately take deeper breaths, inhale more oxygen and deliver it better all the way up to the head.

Breathing exercises: These exercises train you to exhale more deeply as well as emptying your lungs better so you can fill them with more fresh air. These exercises also help transfer fresh oxygen from the lungs to the blood and then deliver it all the way up to the brain.
In addition to the deep breathing exercise, I've included extremely effective nasal breathing exercise that balances your brain function, so parts of the brain that tend to be more oxygen deprived receive an equal doze of oxygen. Using this simple exercise has been proven very effective to stop migraine attack when you feel you're about to have one.

The third part of the program includes exercises that relax and strengthen the muscles around the brain. These exercises are very effective for typical tension headache. They not only loosen up pressure from the head, but, by training these muscles, you'll strengthen the veins in delivering oxygen to all parts of the head and also to the parts that are starved most of the time.
Please do not skip any part of this program. Follow in detail the directions in each section. This may be a little time consuming in the beginning (may take up to an hour) but I'm sure that permanently eliminating migraine and headaches from your life is well worth it. Plus, after you've healed yourself, you can cut back on the exercises and only do them once in a while.
The program works if you work. So if you suffer from migraine or frequent headaches. Or if you know someone who does. You can learn more about my new migraine and headache program and test drive it here...

Whatever energetic imprint or energetic pattern has been entrained to from around that period of birth, i think could be worth trying the distant healing technique on yourslef. Perhaps during birth, and also during pregnancy.

If there were any stresses during preganancy &/ or birth, then i would think they could have changed the vibration of certain organ/s of the body. It is all energy after all. When i say stresses, it could be anything; mental, emotional, physiological (eg lacking or low levels of some mineral/s needed for the development of foetus)

So, there is another option available for you to try, if you like.

Working with birth trauma can also be hugely beneficial. My first experience with that came from a TAT session (hi, Alfred!). Whether you choose to work with QT or a different modality, it's worth clearing birth trauma as a means of addressing the Whole.
