I consider religion to be man-made and spirituality to be of God. I may on occasion attend a New Thought church, like Unity or Spiritualist but definitely do not consider myself religious. Religion, to me, is about accepting someone else's definitions and experiences of God. Spirituality means that I can connect directly to God to receive my answers without having to go through another human being. (Although, sometimes, the answer may come through another person -- or an animal, a tree, a line in a poem, or just a gut feeling on my part.)
So checking "other" doesn't work for me, because of my "non-religiosoty". I would have appreciated a category of "none of the above".
Hi, in my search for some answers, I've encountered some confusion. From reading your post, you seem balanced and that you may have some wisdom in an area that could benefit me. Would you be kind enough to email me, and let me ask you a couple of questions and see if you have some wisdom to share w/ me in my area of concern? If not, I understand, completely. I accept all the prophets of God, but believe that we are a piece of God also. Therefore everyone is equal in my eyes. I have a Native American history and draw from it also. Jan
Well, generalizing your views by associating with a group is a fast way rather than having to explain them all, if they do correspond with a group or at least that as a foundation.
I think 'other' works fine. It just means you have beliefs other than something you can associate with any of the other options.
