Ok, I've felt this and tried to verbalize it before in chats and so forth, but I truly feel that I'll never be able to become a practitioner of QT, much less an instructor. There are no people of either status who live in Mississippi. There are a few in Louisiana and Alabama, but none that are anywhere near me. I do have the basic interactive DVD set, among several others like Supercharging and Core and the basic and supercharging books, but I've only thus far read the book and seen the basic DVD, and it will only go so far. In case you don't know the requirements, they are:

"Complete two Quantum-Touch workshops. One of the workshops must be a live Basic Workshop
For example, you can complete the following combination of workshops:

* 2 live basic workshops OR
* 1 live basic workshop and 1 live advanced workshop OR
* 1 live basic workshop and 1 basic interactive video workshop

Watching the video workshop alone does not count toward practitioner certification."

I know the book and the DVD are great sources of information, but I truly don't feel like I'll be able to go anywhere with QT without being able to become a practitioner. I'm a registered massage therapist, and a licensed real estate salesperson in Mississippi, so maybe that's why I feel that a piece of paper is what I need to have some worth in this modality. Please don't tell me that I don't need to be a practitioner, because that is what I want for myself. And it would be cool to be Mississippi's first QT Practitioner, and eventually Instructor.

People have accused me of having "pity parties" before (not in QT, mind you, that I've heard of), but please don't consider this one of those. But, it's just frustrating to know that it'd be very difficult or impossible to attend a live basic workshop, and I truly don't feel there are enough people in this area who have any interest enough in QT to be able to put on a live workshop. I've told people about it, even adjusted a hip or two, and like most new things, it's great for them for a little bit, then they quickly forget about it. And, though I haven't even brought up the concept of a live workshop yet, I know that $90 is a turn-off for many as well. With the cost of things these days, Quantum Touch will not exactly be a priority for them. For that matter, maybe it shouldn't be my priority either, but I just finally got myself to focus on QT, and if I sit idle for too long (and having ADD doesn't help) I'll lose that focus again.

So anyway..I'm not sure what to do. There isn't much that I can do right now, I suppose, except watch my DVDs and read the book, but again that only takes you so far. Any suggestions, comments, complaints, and rants are welcome. Thank you.

Edit: I guess I forgot to mention this, and since I had one question on it, I figured I would get more. I cannot travel. Between the two jobs I have, plus lack of funds to do so even if I could, there's not much of a chance of doing so. I guess people will say if you can't afford to travel, you can't afford to be a practitioner. But anyway, there it is.

Can't you travel, Eric? My nearest QT instructor is in another country but that didn't stop me from travelling a thousand miles each way to attend a basic workshop.

Eric... You have just given a list of all the reasons why you will not ever get to be a Certified Practitioner. Lock, stock and barrel, right down the line, a list of all the reasons you can't. Where is the energy in that?

Energy follows thought. Think "Law of Attraction." Your thoughts here are negative, about NOT getting what you want. You sound helpless -- "There isn't much I can do...." "I can't travel...." so until that statement changes, that is likely the outcome you will experience. You will experience NOT getting a class, and NOT traveling.

If you change the thought, state what it is you WANT, in positive terms, it will come. It won't hurt if you start a piggy-bank, either, of course.

If you aren't familiar with The Law of Attraction, may I direct you to a paperback book by Esther & Jerry Hicks calld "Ask And It Is Given." It sounds like a book about prayer, and it is not. It changes lives and doesn't cost much.

Much Happiness on the Journey! Feel the satisfaction, feel the pride, FEEL the joy of reaching your desired goal. FEEL it...and change your statement from a negative one to a positive one. You'll get there, probably much faster than you can imagine. Visualize that certificate hanging on your wall. What kind of a frame is it in? Where in your home does it hang? In fact, why not draw one up and put it where you can see it, and feel the satisfaction of replacing it with the real one.

I am the first person here in my province to be certified as a Quantum Touch Practitioner, and I just became a certified Quantum Touch Instructor. I first of all bought the QT Basic Video Workshop and got together some friends who were into energy work and I facilitated a workshop. I did that a couple of times. I then flew to another province to take the live basic workshop - combining it with a visit with my sister. Then the next year an instructor came to this province and ran a live basic workshop. I don't really know how she happened to do that, but anyway it did happen. Since then we had to cancel two workshops as the numbers did not warrant her flying in. I just received an email this week saying I have become certified as an instructor. (I visited my sister again at the same time an advanced workshop was taking place, and I took that.) I am hoping to run a live basic workshop in the near future. That is much easier than having someone fly in to do it. The numbers can be lower then, as expenses will be less.

I second what Ali has said. It is important to look at the positive side of it. You can start with facilitating a video interactive workshop, and you only need two other people to do the workshop with you. If you do that a couple of times you may have enough interested people to bring an instructor to your area to run a live basic workshop.

If you practice on your friends, you will start to get people interested in energy healing. They may read the book and get hooked like the rest of us.

I understand how you are feeling Eric and know the limitations well. What I've read above is what has been told to me, so many times and there are, just so many BUTS. It's frustrating for those things not to be acknowledged. So, let me acknowledge those obstacles and try to present this another way.

Right here, right now the obstacles stand. So be it. We can't see the future and as the days pass many, many things can change. Many disappointments that lead to many more opportunities. In a nut shell the limitations we know now, might not be there tomorrow, so why focus on them? Plan for what you want and let tomorrow take care of itself by doing all you can now. Saving is a start, even if you just save a few cents a week they are cents you wouldn't have had if you had not done so... and they add up!

What is the worst case that you save for a trip you are not able to take when the time comes? How bad would that be to have some extra money you might need by then? Maybe someone you know by then will need some extra hours you could trade for the three days you'd need for a workshop.... there are so many scenarios that could be, might be; can't just doesn't fit in.

The thing is Eric we cannot tell today who we might meet tomorrow. They just might be someone who knows many people interested in a workshop, or they might have the kinds of skills to get people interested. Being steadfast about what you want and being open to all the possiblilities is key.

I'm still learning all of this too. While I am, it is my hope to also learn how to teach it, because most of how I've learned so far has been FWAPPED into me, by scorn, by loss of friendships I valued, by frustrated teachers and mind you they loved me; they just didn't have the key to make it understandable enough for me to embrace and I forgive them for their lack of faith in me and the hurts I felt. I'm grateful they told me anyway. It is all a part of the lesson.... I'm getting there; I expect my arrival now; I have arrived! Those I believe to be the levels of "getting it." You can embrace one stage of it at a time or all of it at once, whatever works for you. When you're ready you will reach your goal. I hope this makes some sense to you Eric.

There are some great tools used by people here to help you along your journey; Sonja with her lightning bolt technique comes to mind. Randy Lynn's Practice Happiness, Visualization, EFT, TAT and many more. Keep yourself open to the many possibilities..... keep your focus on what you want as if you already have it; you're going to those workshops, as am I.

You have read the book and watched the DVD's,the same information is given at a live basic class. The only difference is the people there. You also will need 60 hours of practice to become certified. Why not start working on those hours now for a voluntary offering, put that money aside to go to a live workshop. As you gain your practice hours, people will comment that they would like to learn too. Before you know it you will have enough interest to get an instructor to come to you. If you want to be the first practitioner you are going to have to travel or build enough interest to get someone to come to you. If you are first, there will have to be a lot of education about Quantum Touch so I would jump in and get started with what you do have. I started with just the book and the DVDs myself so it is possible.

I'm in the UK, but at the moment, financially thing are the same here, money is very tight, and given a choice, people would prefer to pay their mortgage than go on a 2 day course. But the latest opinion from QT Inc. (and I don't remember QT becoming an Inc., oh was has happened to those early QT days when Richard told us to make QT our own, and we didn't all those conditions and "ethics" to obey.)is that they "look forward to a more abundant experience for all", no very helpful or supportive!

It should not be too difficult to organise a video course though, you need only to raise enough money to pay for your certificate.

Perhaps if people locally can't afford the full Basic course price, why dont you write to QT and ask them to make a one off price reduction. I recently went to an area, where people are poor, I asked QT for a reduction for them, and they dropped the price by nearly 60%

I read the book, started practicing towards my 60 hours straight away and ordered the dvd's. I could see no way that a person in Southern Africa couold attend a live workshop. There was only one person in the whole of Africa at the time who was a practitioner and not yet an instructor. That did not deter me.

I did over a hundred hours and then suddenly out of the blue there was a workshop arranged in South Africa. I live in Botswana - 4 hours away by car - which involved a lot of juggling in order for me to attend the class. I just did not entertain the notion that I would not in the end be a practitioner.

I soon became the second person In Africa to become a certified practitioner. My point is - It is all about attitude and belief that the universe has a way of providing that which you most want. However you are going about it in the way that is least likely to bring it about. I wanted it and believed it would be available to me. There was no other possible thing that I entertained.

Get on with the doing and let everything else fall into place. You have to change how you envisage the future developing. If you set yourself up for obstacles, obstacles will be what you get. I held 5 interactive workshops and used the money from them to pay for the live workshop. Who knows when admin may decide to do a workshop just in your area so you won't have to travel.

And I don't agree with you about having the piece of paper. It's a nice bonus, but your massage sesssioons will be incredibly enhanced by Qt and you may find yourself being picked over other therapists when people discover you have an extra dimension to work with.

I gave a friend an"energy massage" today - no oils, no undressing just a massage over her clothes and using QT I concentrated on pressure points and sweeping and breathing. She (an experienced massage therapist) declared it was the best massage she had had in like"forever" and that she had been searching for someone who could give her a good massage. But get this - I do not know much about massage and she normally assosciates me with just QT sessions, so when she realised what QT could do in the realm of massage she was tremendously excited. Think how you could enhance your own work without even having to wait to become a QT practitioner. Now wouldn't that be worth doing all the learning for anyway????

First I'm glad to hear from you again.
Secondly, we all go through periods of self doubts, where everything looks bleak.
Even Richard Gordon himself admitted that when he saw what Bob Rasmusson did, he jumped to the conclusion that he will never be able to do those things. Well, we all know it was otherwise.
When I came across QT a little more than a year ago, I would'nt even dream of attending a live workshop, being on this tiny island the other side of the world but within a few months I was contacted by someone that I did not know before and we had the first live workshop on our island!
"Ask and you shall be given" is no idle statement...........

Everyone has given great advice. I love hearing and taking advantage of the diverse viewpoints. Here's another: Sometimes it's okay to have a "pity party." Ya just can't stay there for very long. Acknowledge and name the obstacles. Then figure out the tool you need to overcome it, the steps you need to get passed it, and be open for opportunities. I'm of the firm belief that naming the problem is half of the solution. Do read the Abraham-Hicks stuff if you already haven't done so. There are some free recordings on the site that are a great overview of their teachings. Every time you see a step toward your goal -- take it. And day dream lots about getting there, being there. You'll get there. And remember, it's not the destination -- it's the journey -- enjoy. Vent here anytime you like but remember to keep us posted on your forward motion as well. Hugs

So good to hear from you! In reading the post it was stated that you have started upon a Journey. Indeed you have. The journey and what you discover along the way is what's important. Though becoming a practitioner is a desired goal it does not change the path's course. As with all things comes a season. We can not command,(to my dismay) that it be spring! In its own time and glory it happens. Maybe now it is your season to grow, evolve, learn, laugh and rejoice for the approaching season when indeed you will be a practitioner. Simply enjoy the journey and give praise that you have found the path leading to a more abundant and fullfilling life.

Eric: You didn't say where in MS you were located, but I'm teaching a Live Basic class in Birmingham, AL the last weekend of April. Maybe that is close enough to you to make a short trip?

Eric, there you have it: Trane will travel anywhere in the world to teach his Basic workshop. Lemme tell you - he's one heckuva instructor, even before he BECAME one!

I agree with Cris and Nancy wholeheartedly. Acknowledge what currently "is" as "this moment," and make a list of those reasons. Align a tool or a way to overcome those current obstacles as your "map to success." This way, you have goal planning happening for you, which will serve to release some of the doubts you've been having around this - as well as get you steps closer to reaching the ultimate goal, whatever that is that you want.

There are many instructors who would travel if you get enough people interested in QT that would take a live Basic class...and one of the biggest and best ways to generate that kind of interest is demos of the work done by you, for others...the short introductory CD you get with the book is FABULOUS and not very time-consuming for others to watch when they come to visit you and "hang" for a bit...and I think in no time you'd have 12-15 folks who are really interested in taking a class, no matter what the cost or expense!

Small steps to great things, my friend. Many of us here have shared your frustrations, but we, too, took small steps and reached the goal. Nothing is impossible.
