I have a family friend that I am running energy hands-on once a week for insomnia and shoulder/upper back pain. He says he usu. sleeps only about 3 or 4 hrs. a night and then wakes up and can't go back to sleep. He also gets severe shoulder and upper back pain in the afternoons which he blames on his lack of sleep. I've run energy on him in 3 separate sessions, and sometimes in distance sessions but he says he sees very little if any improvement. I am feeling badly for him and wonder what is going on. I can feel the energy flowing when I treat him, and he did have one night when he said he slept an unheard-of 5 or 6 hours. This condition has been going on for him for about 2 or 3 years and of course the doctors haven't helped him. He is in his 70's and works about 30 hours a week, but enjoys his work most of the time. He is a great guy and I just want him to sleep well and feel better. I don't see why he shouldn't be able to. I wonder if any of you have any suggestions. I have told him that maybe twice a week would be better, but he is a bit of a skeptic and will only come by once a week. Of course, I've told him that I won't give up on him if he won't give up on what I'm trying to do for him. I guess I'm just needing some encouragement.

There are certain times of day when organ meridians are most active. (For instance Lung begins to be active around 3 a.m. - I've noticed that often people with asthma will complain of waking up at around 3 a.m. every night) Ask your friend if there is a particular time in the night he tends to wake up and/or a particular time in the afternoon he tends to get the pains. It may give you a clue as to what organ energy is involved, and you could focus on running energy into that organ and see what happens.

Lung 3 am - 5 am
Large Intestine 5 am - 7 am
Stomach 7am - 9 am
Spleen 9 am - 11 am
Heart 11 am - 1 pm
Small Intestine 1 pm - 3 pm
Bladder 3 pm - 5 pm
Kidney 5 pm - 7 pm
Pericardium/Diaphram 7 pm - 9 pm
Triple Heater 9 pm - 11 pm
Gallbladder 11 pm - 1 am
Liver 1 am - 3 am

Anita,
Given the age of your friend, some hormonal shifts may have taken place. it is not uncommon for people to awaken in the middle of the night as they get older. Try running energy on the major glandular centers of the body, the pituitary, pineal, thymus, thryroid and adrenal areas. Also incorporate the organ systems which seem relevent from Jocelyn's post.

Anita,
Try doing distant healing at night. If you wake at night send him energy. I have found that this helps in cases of clients not being able to sleep well at night. Tell him that you will send him distant healing at night and see what happens.

Hi Anita,

Don't forget that you can send the energy forward to when he is sleeping and ask that the energy continue through the night for his greatest good and to allow him to sleep as he should for maximum health. This way you can do the session when you have the time, knowing it will reach him when he needs it.

And Jocelyn, thanks for the great info on the times for various organs!

Good luck,

Jo-Ann

The pains which he blames on lack of sleep may not be due to that. It could be that he does not need much sleep, and the pains have a different cause. If I were treating him, I would use EFT as well as QT, perhaps QT distant and EFT in 1-to-1 sessions. I am 75 and I often wake at night. I usually get up and do something, and avoid blaming myself for waking up.
