Ancient Chinese Chi Kung masters spent years and years developing their chi and in a sense "purifying" themselves...since QT is so "easy" to learn, I am curious if (with the current american diet, and environment) a majority of QT practicioners arent passing on "dirty chi"? just curious
It doesn't work that way. There are four acupuncturists who are QT instructors, plus Alain Herriott who taught Qi Gong for over a decade, and they can all answer your question better than me. From what they tell me, when you run energy with QT, you don't have to worry about "dirty chi", "hot chi", "cold chi", or any other kind of chi.
As far as diet goes, Bob Rasmusson who discovered this way of running energy never was known to eat a "healthy" diet, yet he ran energy as well or better than anyone I've ever met.
The energy is gathered by consciousness and breath, and is ultimately in my opinion an expression of who we are as a soul nature, not our personality or our diet. It is what I have referred to as "nonenculturated love" or "nonassociative love" - but love that exists because you exist. It is energy as spiritual essence of being - not associated with a religion or for that matter in conflict with religion. (I don't believe that any religion tells you not to breathe deeply, feel sensations in your own body, or to lay on of hands.)
here in Dallas in the heart of Southern Baptist country, i have encountered many who regard the laying on of hands/healing to be impermissible if not preceded by an explicit claim that it is Jesus who sends the energy-- i love using qt and i am christian, but i see many religious leaders using fear to preserve power and control over followers: as my hindu friends note, we live in the age of kali yuga
Thanks Bluetrain, I forgot that the iron age extends to certain mentalities as well. However in Kali Yuga spiritual practices bear fruit more quickly than in the Golden age...
If you are doing the sweep and the breath, you don't have to be concerned about picking up stuff from your clients.
The concept of "dirty chi" only comes into play when you are using the 'Chi" in a particular way to do healing and this is usually noted in Chi Gong healing. In other modalities it may have other names. One of the main reasons I changed to Q-T was so I didn't have to be concerned about it anymore. I have not been disappointed. If anything I am constantly pleased that something so easy works so effortlessly.
