This is slightly off-topic but I knew you folks would be able to help me out. I have a sinus infection and I want to run down to Vitamin Cottage and pick up some natural remedies. I've had decent experience with oil of oregano so I was thinking of getting some of that, as well as perhaps some fenugreek and thyme.

Any tips on what else I might try? What are some potent natural antiobiotics?

My mother has had great success with her long-term sinus infection by using colloidal silver as a nasal spray.

Be careful to get a good quality colloidal silver and NOT a colloidal silver protein.

We actually make our own colloidal silver a heck of a lot cheaper than you can buy it and, we believe, it is of a higher quality as true colloidal silver will degrade over time. If you would like, I can send you the directions on how to make your own. The setup cost is roughly $30-$40 but then it only costs you pennies a bottle to make it after that.

My mother even uses the colloidal silver as a mouthwash as it kills all germs and dramatically reduces the plaque on her teeth.

Several years ago I had a terrible sinus infection that traditional medical antibotics would not touch. They put me on a final round and told me taht this was to bring the infection down so that they might be able to do surgery. I would have no part of that, so I spoke to some others who recommened garlic. I took 500mlgrms 5-6 times a day and drank TONS of water. When i went back to the DR. I was COMPLETELY clear.
I now take garlic at least 2times a day in cold/flu season and if I feel something comming on I go running for the Garlic. Hope this helps!

At the risk of sounding indelicate: snort warm salted water!

I've been (in the past) put on the sinus surgery alert, too, and this was the simple and highly effective way I solved it. Since my original treatment about 10 years ago, I've only had one infection, which passed when I thought about snorting the salt water. I also recommend Genestra's Allisyn - standardized and high quality garlic.

Grapefruit seed extract has wiped out bronchitis & strep throat in my household! I use it at first signs of anything...and if I don't catch it in time, I take it 3 times/day till symptoms are gone. (usually 3 - 4 days)

Allisyn is expensive, but it's of very high quality. Grapefruit seed will also be helpful, especially if parasites are involved.

Here's what I've been doing to get rid of Sinus Infection that already moved into my throat. I am almost fully recovered within 3 days of starting everything below.

Six per day
===========
*500mg Garlic (Thank You Cindysue! This made a difference)
*Cold-Eeze (Zinc throat lozenges)

Three per day
=============
*1000mg Vitamin C
*Sinufresh nasal spray, the anti-bacterial one
*Vicks Vapo Rub, chest front and back and neck front
*Meditate into a nap (I'm using Jose Silva's Relaxation Exercise to relax then falling asleep instead of remaining conscious. Having the intention that my body heal itself while I rest.)

Twice per day
=============
*Sinus salt water Irrigation (12oz warm water with about 1 teaspoon sea salt, pushed into the sinus using a child ear bulb, alternate every 2-3 bulbs each nostril)
Is this what you are doing for "snort warm salt water"?

Remember to visualize your body completely well and listen to that 'still small voice inside' on what you should do.
