Hello. Thanks for your response. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a Licensed Social Worker, and a certified Quantum Touch Practitioner. Do you know of anything that would cover all of that--mainly the QT aspect? Thabnks, Jana! -Ruth

You may have to join the AHA, but check it out anyway. The insurance company is listed at the bottom of the application so you could call direct. If you look at the example application, on the addendum (last page) a question is asked about using Reiki, etc. I think it would fit it here.
It appears from the application that this covers a lot of counseling activities.

http://www.hypnosis.edu/aha/insurance/

I thought the prices were pretty reasonable. I have not gotten any yet, but this is the best I have found so far. I’m not sure about the prices without being a member of the AHA.

http://www.americanprofessional.com/ This is the direct to agency contact, but there is no mention of hands-on work, Maybe if you print the application off the AHA site and submit directly or call them?

If anyone else has suggestions or info, please share for all of us!!!!

Ruth,

One source of Liability Insurance is at:

IAIM

The International Association of Integrative Medicine.

The charge is $160 for QT Liability Insurance, plus it's $149 a year to be a member of IAIM.

It's not something I have, nor am I connected to them in any way. Their web site does not yet specifically name QT as a covered modality, but a recent response from them by email says,

"Greetings and thank you for your email. Yes, as a registered member you
could then take part in the IAIM Insurance Program. We have just added an
additional insurance option (it is not listed at the website yet) but it
covers Quantum Touch and other forms of energywork and is $160 for the year.
This covers you anywhere in the USA that you practice or teach and is
full-time coverage (as many hours/week as you practice)."

Hope this might be of some use.

G L Arnold

(By the way, I've not found anything less expensive.)

Ruth, welcome to the Fambly! Big Grin

Also, licensed massage therapists who are licensed in therapeutic massage AND BODYWORK (that HAS to be added to the licensure) are covered in regards to any energy modality under their respective liability insurance policies. The ABMP and the AMTA both have awesome coverage for LMTs; I think it's only $150 per year, and gives up to a million in protection, or more. I'm not licensed *yet* so I've not done a lot of digging on the subject, but I do know those of us who are LMTs and already have memberships/liability coverage through either of those organizations are covered in any energy modality.

It can be sticky, so research is a necessity. I'm sure there are cheaper forms of liability coverage that covers the broad spectrum of energy therapies, but it always seemed to me there was a catch involved - like, lower coverage amounts. I know the IAIM is a good one to go with, if you're not a LMT. I know some people around my area that don't have any other licensure to practice energy work other than an ordained minister's license, and energy work falls into "laying on of hands" or "faith" healing work in that instance. They don't have insurance, and I don't believe they are required to in KY under that particular licensure.

It all boils down to your state/country's particular requirements, and what licensure you're practicing under...from there, you can begin to poke around different insurance companies to see what they can offer in the way of coverage and price.

Great topic! Smiler

Hi again, Ruth - That was why I had askde about your "initials" I suspected it was counseling work which was whhy I directed you to American Professional because they cover mostly counseling type professions.... Knowing that they have an addendum regarding Reiki led me to believe that QT would also be considered.
