Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to QT and looking forward to seeing where it leads! I have a couple of basic questions I'm hoping some of you can answer...

I started reading the book this morning and began the practice exercises. I found that I had a very difficult time 'feeling' the body sweeps. I followed the instructions carefully, but try after try, I just couldn't get any kind of sensation going (besides maybe a few extremely subtle and fleeting ones). The same goes for sensation in my hands. My questions to you are:

1. How long (about how many minutes/hours of practice) did it take you to begin feeling the sweeps and sensation in the hands?

2. How strongly did you feel the sensations once they appeared? Did they come full-force right away or was it a gradual progression?

I realize I just started and that I have to practice and be patient. But I just want to know what to expect or what to look for. The book seems to assume that people can begin healing in one day using the basic techniques, so I'm wondering if I'm abnormal.

Thanks in advance for answering this newbie's questions.

Julie

When I started I used a visualization to help me feel the sweep. I visualized it as an ocean wave coming in and going out. So as the wave came in I inhaled the energy up to the top of my head and as the wave receded the energy flowed down my head into my arms and out my hands. I think I also used the sound of the waves in my mind to create an intentional up down movement of energy. I don't do this anymore because I can just link right to the feeling of the energy but thats what I did at the start.

Also give yourself a good 10 minutes of this. Sometimes it takes awhile for the sensation to kick in and even if it doesn't, know that thru your intent, it is working.

Hope that helps.

Hi Julie,

Don't worry if you don't feel the energy right away or even for a while. As Richard Gordon says, some people don't, but do great healing work anyway.

In the meantime, your imagination can be a powerful tool. Just imagine that the energy is flowing, however it's easiest for you to visualize. The flow is happening, whether or not you have definite sensations, so trust that your focus and intent will do the rest!

Marian's advice is good. Also, in the book, there are exercises with two people helping each other feel the energy by lightly brushing the person's body in the direction of flow. Everyone has a unique visualization. When I first started I just pictured white (usually) light flowing up my body in a wave and down from my head to my hands on the exhale. I incorporated "votexing" (in the book) and found that this visualization, and even an associated sound (a blender, a drill, a fan?- something fast!) really accelerated the sensation.

Sit or stand comfortably, cup your hands, don't run the energy yet. Feel the warmth between them. Start with your hands a couple of feet apart and slowly bring them towards each other (cupped, facing palm to palm). Notice when you feel the sensation of warmth or pressure (or whatever your body feels) definetly increase. Experiment putting your hands closer aqnd farther apart until you really feel the difference. Keep them where it is the strongest. Now try running the energy, don't force it, allow it, visualize it, let it loose. Try a few different variations of visualizations during this and and notice which one makes your hands heat up the most. Put some effort into feeling it sweep up your body, but mostly visualize it.

The validity and effectiveness of your visualization should not be in question. As you may learn in Supercharging with Alain or Swan, it is everything. Energy follows thought. Period. Relax and just believe it. If you need proof, go to Supercharging. Until then, just have faith, and feel the results at your hands.

Now, try vortexing. A vortex containd in your body, spinning any direction/s it wants to racing up your body like the Tasmanian Devil in the Warner brothers Cartoon. If that doesn't work, picture the speed of a blender with liquid in it. The speed of vortexing is the key. Note that some folks don't even use vortexing or any advanced methods and do quite well with this, just try it.

Now with all of this vortexing and breathing...relax into it. Feel the increase in sensation at your hands. Everyone gets this, you are no exception. Relax and enjoy.

Consider taking a workshop, or hosting a video workshop. The wisdom and experiences that come from the students at these events is very valuable.

I hope this helps.
Christian.

Hello and welcome to Q.T family ,,, Julie

Here are answers of your questions

1. How long (about how many minutes/hours of practice) did it take you to begin feeling the sweeps and sensation in the hands ?

There is no time limit and it cant be given at all. Because it is a healing energy not a kind of machinery where u can expect output after some specific time. If u read book carefully, its written there that some people start to feel sensations after many days or weeks. I also experienced this, I start to feel after one week. I was not worried, as I know it can be.

According to my experience, best technique to check Q.T energy is to have a glass of water, drink some or ask other, keep glass in both hands, energize / charge water for 5 to 10 minutes, drink it again. You will ultimately feel the difference in taste / thickness of water and so you will have results. This was how I first come to know that I m doing Q.T successfully.

2. How strongly did you feel the sensations once they appeared ? Did they come full-force right away or was it a gradual progression ?

There is no limit of feelings. And yes it is a gradual progression. First no feelings, then some, then some more, then so strong that earlier I was looking unintentionally to see if something happening actually in my hands.

But be patient, it will take some time. Its same like physical exercise, u start from less and then increase day by day.

Be Patient and Be Sure Always.

Thanks for the wonderful advice you've given so far. I have a feeling I'm just a bit overeager - and I expected to be able to unmistakeably feel the sensation right away. I'll surely use all of these tips in the coming days and let you know how it goes.

every one is different with the feeling of when and how.

I had the sensation before i ordered the book, all it took was to look at the stack of printed web pages telling me to order it. my hands would just buzz when i looked at the pile, and it would stop when i picked it up.

so I ordered the book and after awhile i ordered the dvd workshop.

some dont have any feeling but do great work even though they cant feel the energy.

Richard suggests in the book to practice it while standing in line at the super market, or when you are walking, or watching tv or riding a bick or when ever you can, you dont have to breath hard just feel the energy coming in from the soles of your feet to the top of your head when you inhale, and send it down to your shoulders and arms and out your hands on your exhale,( more like a sigh when you are in public)

good luck and keep practicing
