I took only a "taster" of a QT workshop over the past weekend and except for when I felt the need for a stronger breath, by and large I used a deep yet lighter breath which comes more naturally to me. How much does the kind of breath really matter? Thanks.

This is the second or third time I've seen the term Yin breath- though I've yet to see a Yang breath mentioned.

Can someone please explain what a Yin breath is- and how it differs from other types of breaths?

The yin breath is a short-hand term that Alain has used when he is describing of one aspect of the Core Transformation workshop which has a lot to do with the sort of consciousness you bring to the work. It is far more than just learning to use the breath in an entirely different way than in the basic or Supercharging workshops. I find the term can be confusing for that reason and prefer to refer to the Yin form of Quantum-Touch - rather than as a yin breath.

Most all practitioners need to be reminded to breathe more deeply and move larger volumes of air. Many people have found that their work became far more powerful when the allowed themselves to overcome the tendency to use shallow or soft breathing.

If you watched Bob Rasmusson do QT, you would see someone moving huge amounts of air and getting spectacular results.

Does the Core Breath move less air than the Basic? Richard mentions Bob Rasmusson moving huge quantities of air.

I can't quite get the breathing into my head and body watching the Core Videos.

I had assumed Core Transformation would be easier for me but when I came to an 8/8 breath - yikes, if that's 8 seconds in and 8 seconds out, that's less than 4 breaths per minute.

You could then still be moving a lot of air if you breathe deeply.

As the great grandma who's had asthma since age 3, my expiration capacity is limited and I don't like to think this will affect my "healing" ability, but. . . .

Hi CarolyRuly,

You are trying to draw a parallel that is not there. The Core work is about opening you. In the process of doing so you are making your system quieter and quieter. That is what the client entrains to.

You still need to breath and that is still what keeps you from "picking up stuff". Yet with the Core work you are not "sending" anything hence the concept that the work is more "yin" than basic and SC techniques.

You many note that the breathing rate suggested is just that a suggestion. As you get more comfortable gradually slow the exhale and remember to enjoy the inhale. Slower breathing does not mean shallow breathing.

In short order you will find that the breathing is quite simple and you will find your own balance within it. Also you mention a count "8X8" breath relative to the basic QT. There is no counting here, it is the sensation produced by the proper focus linked to the breath rate that is the entry point for the Core work.

Play and practice and see how it evolves.
