hi Faune,
I never thought of that particular Idea! What would it do,besides purify and energize the food?
Perhaps this is an idea that will remind all of us of what we are doing...Energize the plate of food, find that we are very full after ingesting all that energy and food? That is a great idea. No room left for deserts...

There are those (me) whow would simply skip the meal and eat the desert. If energized, I think the sweet tooth I have, which goes down to my heel, will no longer be active. I have been trying it, and find that I am very full, uncomfortably full, if I eat an entire plate of food.
Since using this idea,I have been running out into our current blizzard to help trees. They all made it through, a miracle of its own, but even better, I didnt eat like a starving sow.

Not going intothe desert thing now, as I did NOT intentionally do the deserts, knowing that the sweet tooth will leave by itself, and I was gonna enjoy the desert or else. At which time, the limb from the tree I had been energizing smacked the roof of the house so hard that I put that bite back down. (tree was okay, just p.o.ed at me) now, the sweets are once again becoming repugnant to me.

Anyone else got a Christmas/Hannukah story to share at the noon time first meet? Think about it.
If a tree can reprimand me, what happened to you?
cya at about 12 noon my time, because I dont know better at this point. I believe we have that time thing on our plates (sorry) first,
and foremost, so we can depend on each other at a Known time and get whatever help we all need from the others AT THAT TIME.

I am gonna goof big time, many times, so expect it, I have never tried to be what I am not.

I will be waiting herein the chat room for anyone interested in losing that baby fat.
Or whatever you call it. I think of it as a fortress, and expect to have my thinking changed.

HI ALL,

ZEN, SURE AM HAPPY FOR YOU ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS I NEED TO LOOSE ANOTHER 30 LB HAVE LOST 60 AND THE LAST 10 I REALLY THINK IT IS BECAUSE I LAY DOWN FOR ABOUT 10 MIN. IN THE EVENING AND DO MY QT BREATHING AND CONCENTRATE ON THE WEIGHT MELTING OFF AND LEAVING MY BODY FOR GOOD. THEN GET UP AND DRINK A BIG GLASS OF WATER TO FLUSH OUT THOSE PESKIE LITTLE FAT CELLS.

SO I WILL BE AROUND WHEN I CAN AT NOON.

WELLNESS IS JUST A TOUCH AWAY.
HAVE A GOOD ONE.

I'm here and you can count me in. today is my first day using QT for weight loss, so I am learning as I go.

My goal is to take 50 lbs of fat off my frame and strengthen and tone my muscles and skin. Most of the fat is around my hips, thighs legs and tummy.

I gave myself a great incentive to exercise this new year by putting a new TV w/ a built in DVD player in my exercise room. I'm a movie junkie, so I'll just plug in a movie and exercise til its over.

Hi Zen,
My seven starving people have just left full of Boxing day cheer. So I rushed to the computer to see if anyone has actually started and I'm being left behind. Ho Ho Ho one or two have. I see Jan is determined so - Good Luck Jan.
Luckily for me one TV channel here is starting Paul McKennas 'I can make you thin' hypnotherapy
series in the mornings so I may tune into that and see if it helps.
Zen you suggested twice a day contact times 12 noon your time was one but what was the other? I can't seem to find what was decided. I think you are about 8 Hours behind UK.
Anyway will try to fit in somewhere.
Have a great start everyone - we are all becoming slim and georgeous!!

Overweight is not great, but anorexia or bulimia is not wonderful, either. They are mirror images of us.

Today in Chat Number One we agreed on a time to meet:

Once weekly (for now) at 12 noon Mountain Time Zone on TUESDAY.

1:00 pm Central
11:00 Pacific
2:00 Eastern

We are walking daily, doing the 12-color meditation daily, keeping notes if needed to share with the group either here on the forum or in the next chat, which will be on:

Tuesday, January 2, at the above-posted time.

Time and frequency are subject to change after we see how well this combination works for the greatest number of people.

We are all enthusiastic about this, happy for the support group and the forum, eager to start, and feel that it has gotten off to a fine start.

We are not posting our weights, in case you were wondering about that, just privately keeping track individually. We may consider totaling the pounds lost at some time down the line. There is no teasing and no jokes, and we are going to try to keep the chats "on topic," so that they are relatively brief in duration, and not bogged down with miscellaneous chat.

So if you feel you have a weight problem, plus or minus, mark Tuesday on you calendar and do join this wonderful, supportive group of friends.

For the time being, I'm not certifed and the meeting day chosen would keep me from joining all of you in the chat portion of this great new program anyway. GO Zen! I will be certified eventually, so maybe when I get there, more options will be available. Meanwhile, I'd still like to follow your progress on here and work it on my own. Would you consider posting the color meditation? I've kind of been waiting for one of your special ones Ali, so I could post it, (with your permission of course) under the Meditation Topic.

I'm in but can't be in chat weekdays since I'm a 9-5 kinda gal. I'll watch this thread and post my progress.

I like the 10-minute melting meditation with the glass of water afterwards to flush the fat that somebody mentioned a few posts back. I'm going to do that, too.

You're right, Zen, about underweight being as bad as overweight. After seeing my daughter's struggles, I think it's worse. People at least know enough to whisper about overweight but bellow about underweight. There is practically no support for underweight people.

Please count me in! I lost 30 pounds since April but a few crept back on the last few weeks with mince pie and potatoes and all. I don't buy it but when it is served up before you - there goes the will power. I would love to lose another 30 pounds!

Being at work, I don't think I can make the chat room. By the way how do you get to the chat room?

Just got back from a terrific Christmas holiday. I'd already decided I'm going to be losing some weight, so this is great! Thanks for thinking of it, Zeneagle.

I was reading a wonderful book over the holiday, "The Four-Day Win," by a wonderful woman named Martha Beck. In case anyone is planning on cutting calories or cutting off some type of food they love, she makes an interesting point: It is a scientific fact that if a person even THINKS about depriving him- or herself of food, the body goes into starvation mode. You can keep it up temporarily, but eventuallly there's going to be a frantic survivalist kick-back effect where you MUST HAVE that food. She calls her book "4-Day Win" because she's noticed over the years that if someone does something for 4 days, it starts to seem normal. So she suggests that changes should be made in VERY SMALL, 4-day increments - for instance, if you're going the calorie-counting route, just decrease 100 calories at a time for four days at a time (that is, if you're eating 3000 calories a day, for each of four days have 2,900 calories). AND, IMPORTANTLY, REPLACE that bit of food deprivation (comfort deprivation to your mixed-up brain) with a small non-food pleasure. (And NOT with a daily march through the tundra, which would send the wrong message to your poor body - "Omigod, first I'm being deprived, and now I'm being abused! WHERE'S THAT HOSTESS TWINKIE???!!!!") In in the meantime, she gives you ways of learning to feed your soul in a genuine and appropriate way.

There's a lot more to this book, and I highly recommend it to anyone with the goal of losing weight when emotional eating is involved. (And when isn't it?!) For instance, she feels the number one skill involved in balancing your weight is developing the ability to "contemplate." Her strategies for learning to "eat less & move more" don't even appear until the last fifth of the book! She feels that healing the relationship between your mind and your body, and your "Inner Dictator" and your "Wild Child," and moreover, learning not to identify with either role, but to identify with the "Watcher" who loves and understands them both, is the core skill.

In any case, get the book! It's great.
