I was on Lexapro (an antidepressant/anti-anxiety medication) a few years ago. Only for about 3 months, but I gained 30 pounds, and have had a hard time getting it off. Even on a strict diet and exercise program it wasn't budging. I just tried a raw program for a month, and while some moved, very little considering the huge change in my eating. It just seems I can eat all I want of any garbage out there, or be on a restrictive diet, and the impact is the same, so why bother.

Doing research on the web, seems this is a pretty common side-effect of these medications.

Have any of you had any success working with this circumstance - using QT or anything else?

I've tried a liver cleanse, a kidney cleanse, a liquid cleanse, low glycemic diet, raw foods. While some movement may happen, it is so little by comparison to where I was before that it's hard for me to stay committed.

I'm open to any ideas, especially if you have worked with yourself or others in this same situation and have had success. Thank you,

Looks like you've tried everything.

Have you thought of trying natural ways to reduce the depression which you use Lexapro as a temporary crutch - having your Doctor monitoring and adjusting the dosage.

You can download a manual to get an idea of how it works. The website has a list of practitioners. You may be able to find one on Ebay.

I went through a similar thing with post medication weight gain... Two things have helped. Walking helped everything shift, not so much in witght loss as shift to better positioning. THe other was yoga. Even at only once a week, the shift was awesome.

Also - Maybe it caused some sort of hormonal shift. I would highly recommend a book I just posted about by Donna Eden, Energy Medicine for Women. See the post, right above this one, for more information. She has a range of energy medicine techniques to shift your metabolism. All the instructions and explanations are very clear. It's an engaging and easy read.

I really think this might be exactly what you're looking for.
