If someone figures out how to send or receive PMs, would you kindly let me in on the trick? I tried sending one as a test, but clicking on a Buddy's name only gives their public profile and no link or clue as to how to send a PM or receive one, for that matter.

I answered my own question about sending and receiving private messages. Under my "Permissions," I am not allowed to view, edit, or send private messages. Do we all have that restriction, or is it just me?

You got my curiosity going. Even tho I don't use the PM thingy a lot, I still use it, and like that option. After reading what you wrote, I checked mine out. Looking under "Permissions" as you said, I saw its not even an option we can choose to click on or click off. I hope that's only cuz everything is new and just needs some figuring out. Eventually I hope we get a choice about this feature.

Go to "My space," and look under "Permissions" ---> Groupee Community---->Personal permissions. You need to "expand" those lists by clicking on them. There's a list there. If you have a checkmark, you are permitted, and if not, you're not permitted.

There are two items about Personal Messages.....reading them (receiving) and sending them. I have no checkmarks in front of those two items, and I'm really curious to know if everyone is denied the PM privilege, or if it's just me. The PM feature of the old board was a good one, not that I used it all that often, but very handy and useful. If it's gone, then that's kind of a shame.

It seems not to be a personal option or choice, but rather someone else has decided if we, (or I in this case,) is "permitted" to send PMs. My question is still the same: Are PMs part of this new system, or not?

I don't have permission either. Hmmm I never used it so I thought that is why I didn't have permission. However I might want to use it.

Well, maybe we're all a bad element, because I can't send PMs either... My profile is checked to receive them from anyone, but that's about it... I also wonder what happened to the ones I had kept for future reference.

Nope, I can't send or receive them either.... perhaps they just haven't got round to it yet!
