Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for your patience in the last few months. We here at Quantum-Touch are still quite new to the Message Board administration, and we are going to Groupee.com with our many technical questions.

I wanted to inform everyone that you are now able to upload photos, not just avatars, into your Profile. After you have logged in: Go > Personal Zone > Profile > View/Edit Complete Profile. Scroll down to "Avatar/Picture URL" and click on Edit > Custom Avatar > Upload Custom Avatar > Browse. Choose your photo on file, and attach.
Best,
QTAdmin

Quoted by Rie142 on another place here on the board:

I believe you go to the GO button on the top and then click on PROFILE

Then on the right click on VIEW/EDIT complete profile

Then scroll down to The AVATAR part and on the Right click on the word EDIT.

Here in this pop up window. Click on CUSTOM AVATAR

Then get rid of the link for the custom avatar.

Hope this works for you.

When I think "avatar", I think of the photos and/or graphics that are shown under a person's name at each post. This doesn't seem to be that.

HI, I am put off by the complexity of trying to post a photo, esp. by the word"avatar". That word means "an incarnation of God", also used by a break-off group from the infamous Scientology.
I think my photo is too big. Anyone know how big is allowed?

Try not to be too far off-put by the word 'avatar', Huggie. While the principle meaning is, yes, an incarnation of a Hindu god, the term has been used for over a decade among people working in virtual reality environments to represent an icon of a user in a shared "virtual reality". Neither Quantum-Touch or Groupee are taking any liberties with the use of the term. It is a common term online.

You should feel free to use anything up to, say, 640x480 pixels in size. While it may be possible to post something larger, 640x480 ensures that all users will be able to view it without difficulty on low-resolution notebooks.

Hello! It has been brought to my attention that some users are having a problem with the Flash Player on their computers. Flash Player is the program which will pull up the separate window which has Avatars in it. To download a new version of Flash Player, please visit: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Pr...rsion=ShockwaveFlash .

After that has been downloaded, please try this: Log in to our Message Board. Click: Go > Personal Zone > Profile > View/Edit Complete Profile. Scroll down to "Avatar/Picture URL" and click on Edit > Custom Avatar > Upload Custom Avatar > Browse. Choose your photo on file, and attach.

I hope this all makes sense!

Wack-a-doodle-poodle! Avatars! I love it. However, there needs to be a rule on size, done either by the admins (you guys choose the maximum size, server-side, and it is written into the code) or by the users (tell us no more than ### pixels wide, etc...). Because I have already come across a couple of images that are ridiculously large! But I expect the bugs to get sorted out quickly.

Fantastic.

Thanks to Caroline who so ably helped me solve the Photo problem today when editing my profile. She created a live link for me, where none existed before. Appreciated!

I love the pics by the names, its great. I also like the size that Ali' s came out as. mine is still to big.its better, than the full screen I had before.

Like John said maybe the Admin can put a set size on the sight that no matter what size your pic is, it will be smaller like ali and sheri's, they are perfect.

thanks again admin for this new feature, I too like seeing the people I am writing to, it gives us a more down home feeling and makes us a closer knit comunittee.
