I was quite looking forward to working my way up the list, finally arriving at 'addict' or 'old hand'....
looks like I'm stuck with stranger.... mind you, can think of worse things to be called!
Are the titles gone for good?

No the titles aren't forever, and in reality, they relate I think to how often one writes into the forum, or how long one has hung around...

As in "KARMA pOINTS" none of us is quite certain what THAT means, ya know??

Hi Nicola, yeah, it's all about how many posts you make - simple as that! No implied judgement of you or even the quality of the posts

I've just asked about this on the groupee nation site, which designs the board and is a great place to go if you have a spare half hour... it has a chatroom with emoticons enabled! No-one was there though. (I'm going to ask Jennifer if we can have them enabled on our chatroom too...)

Keep posting and soon you'll move up a category - if that's what's bothering you! Just make lots of little posts..!

My observation tells me there's something besides the number of posts at work. This is my 36th post, I carry the moniker, "stranger" and yet someone with 29 posts has no descriptor. I'd really prefer nothing to 'stranger'. Is there a way to remove the descriptor until it's a little more - umm, friendly?

I think the titles like "stranger" are carry-overs from the old message board - so I'm not sure if they'll ever change - in which case the only solution is to have them removed if possible. I think the "karma" is groupee's version of these sorts of titles, but that they were disabled because people didn't like the titles. So I think that whatever you had when the switch was made, if you were on the old board, will be forever yours, unless there is some way to get rid of them altogether. (I have to say I don't really care for the title of "addict" myself and would be glad to dispense with all the titles!)

How about it, board managers, can we eliiminate our "titles"?

Hi, Jennifer told me she's sorted the karma thingy, in fact taken it off, so there shouldn't be any titles any more. Hmm. Worth posting another query about it - it's in the pipeline, though!
