How do you refer to a previous thread or post and be able to out it in the present post?

Well I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but I will try to answer in a couple of ways.

If you are reading a post and you wish to quote it or a part of it in your reply, you can simply highlight the text you wish to quote, then click the reply button. Then start typing below. I did that with this very post! I think this might be what you are referring to.

If you merely wish to link to or reference a separate post, first find the post you mean (I usually open it in another window or tab), then copy the URL/address of that post. Right-click on the highlighted address in the address field of your browser and select Copy. You can also select the address and hit the keyboard shortcut for Copy (Ctrl + C). Then when you begin your post and you want to link to the other one, press the URL button in the Full posting window, then paste it into both fields that come up. I usually do that just incase I screw something up and the link does not work initially. That way people can still see the link address in the body of my message.

Um, does that make any sense?
